Blazers ain't average 8th seed, up until bubble they had no Nurkic and Lillard might be the most unguardable nba player in this moment.

People here can be critical of Vuc and his style of play (I certainly do) but I’m always shocked when someone says he has no post game. Clifford May have dragged him out of there but we’ve watched the guy for years show the best fundamentals and footwork in the post since McHale....he’s so sure handed and has so many pivots and quick releases with both hands...post games may be outdated, but no one should ever question his ability to demolish nearly anyone in the league (not Gasol) down there without a double team.
I still want to move on but he’d provide such a different weapon for GSW, BOS, BRK to roll out, depending on matchups. If only we had different looks for the inevitable scrum in the post that’s coming. Ennis and Clark are unlikely to play Splash Brothers forever.
Awesome win

you can tell over the past few years he has not gone into the blocks much and is playing away from the basket. With his faith in his mid-range game and then developing a 3 pt shot, he has seemed hesitant to go into the blocks. if you look at the top-10 scorers at center, he is #2 in ppg, #1 in FGA, #15 in FTA/game. that to me says he just isnt doing work around the basket.

its crazy how little iverd about simons this year, especially in the bubble (has he ever played at all in the bubble?)
Really thought he would breakotu this year, but seeing his low usage, id take a shot on him as our backup to fultz

When guy gets outplayed by Hezonja... top 50 protected second round picks sounds like solid value for a trade

I think Mario is playing the 3 for Portland right now with 2 of Dame, CJ, and GTjr always on the court. But yeah, his trade value has to be pretty low right now. Probably worth a flier. The knock on Simons is bad defense and not great vision. But that's what we have in DJ so he could be an upgrade even if he isn't improved at all.

Its still early but can we assume Weltman team building strategy is kind of working ( as a concept)? Look at our team, how is it possible second year in a row ? Ennis, Clark, MCW, Birch. Maybe if we give them a little more time they can build something interesting? I believe in Okeke, i believe we will nail this years draft, i believe they will start to use some of our assets to make us better. I just pray they will move more into Okeke direction ( skill, feel for the game, shooting), than Bamba ( long arms, smooth talker). God if Bamba learns from Vucevic how to improve and prepare we will have the best center rotation in the nba.

Re: Official Speculation Thread '19-'20 V: Purgatory
I just heard on the radio that Orlando City Soccer is allowing fans back into Exploria Stadium !
https://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-city-soccer/os-sp-orlando-city-fans-stands-20200819-pt5w24di3jaxnd5wlcu636eynq-story.html
Orlando City did not disclose the number of fans it will admit to the stadium for each game, although a source previously told the Orlando Sentinel the club was hoping to welcome about 30% of the stadium’s 25,500 fan capacity.
All fans in attendance will be required to wear masks at all times except when consuming food or drinks. Fans will have their temperatures checked before entry to the stadium and must stay socially distanced from anyone outside of their party.
The upcoming home matches are part of Phase One of the league’s plan for a return to the regular season.
FC Dallas was the first team in the league to play a match with fans, hosting an announced crowd of 2,912 at Toyota Stadium for a match against Nashville SC last week.
There's this link too because orlando sentinel is providing more info

Interesting of all sports that soccer is the 1st to allow fans back in. I imagine Golf and Tennis be next and than Football.

THe problem is, the way our team is constructed, it will never go anywhere without a star. You need that giannis, or kawhi etc
The team, constructed as is with just adding the 15th pick and okeke next year is not moving up much in the standings or realistic shot at winning it

You could say the same thing about numerous playoff teams, but the kind of players you're talking about are extremely rare. We're more likely to build a team like Denver, Toronto, Utah, or Indiana.

Of course you need it,but there is more than one way to aquire it. I mean look at top teams this year, how many of them is build around their own lottery talent ? Not even one. At some point we have to stop looking in the past. Times have changed.

WeHam have done well to find some solid depth pieces for nothing. Ennis, Clark, MCW, Birch, even Iwundu. But I need them to unearth a star real soon. A playmaker.
I'm just too impatient for their slow and steady model.

Weltman did good to get our 8-10th guys. I actually like a lot of their end of the bench dudes.
But this is about to be their 4th year. We’ve had the same roster issues since before they came. I’m happy we won game 1 but these guys havent earned their check yet. Hopefully when they make their “splash” it shows all that experience.

Hmm Dallas looks to be in good shape off their lottery pick. As is Boston. Toronto has also built mostly from the draft and Denver too

Boston is build on Brooklyn picks. Dallas is the only one, and they needed generational talent and 4 mindless teams before them, doesnt seem replicable. Denver is built around 2nd round pick.
