I wonder if embiid will be more aggressive on defense and take better care of the ball. I wonder if furkan and mike scott will contribute. If not they shouldnt play. I have a feeling we will see more neto this game.

What I want to know is this, why does Embiid get gassed so much compared to most players or any player really? the truth is, he is nowhere near as active or reckless as he was on defense in his rookie and maybe sophomore season. Is it his diet, maybe he doesn't workout enough or is it a genetics thing? because I find it baffling how his stamina is always such an issue.

Don’t think he’s a hard worker off the court. Could be wrong just my opinion.

Embiid is 7'2 and 280lbs

Only Zion and Boban are heavier than him....neither of which can go full throttle for 30+ minutes either,

Add into the fact that he has to post up, which takes a ton of energy. Other stars can take possessions off via stepbacks and catch a shoots. Embiid does this with his 3s too.

He does need to get in better shape and slim down in general tho. His stamina wasn't the issue tonight tho

You would think this is proof of how terrible and clueless Brett is, but I'm sure there are still some Brett apologists out there...

Pretty sure all of the tenured Brett supporters have left the chat room (myself included).

I think Brown was not good yesterday, the Celtics have a lot of limited players that he didnt exploit. I also dont think he has any real adjustments to make, he probably hopes that the Celtics will shoot worse and Harris will finally have a good game.

Having said that, he is facing a team that has all their firepower on the perimeter and his perimeter defenders are two essentially rookies in Thybylle and Milton, Korkmaz, Burks and Harris. Richardson is probably the best but it is not like he is some shut down defender. And offensively his best players, other than Embiid, have been Richardson and Milton(?). Things are going to look rough when your opponent hits 44% 3s on huge volume and you are shooting 23%.

Was pretty down last night about our future, but Embiid and Simmons are still locked up long term. Prob need to bring in new coach and management who's first priority is reaching out to both and making sure they feel comfortable with the direction of the franchise. Even if we have to trade picks / some of our younger guys, we probably should try to move on from Horford and Tobias and put people that better fit with Ben and Embiid. Miami put shooters around Jimmy Butler and Bam and they are doing very well.

Locked up long term is meaning less these days if the players don't want to be here :-?

Definitely true. Have to hope whoever gets brought in to run the team can have a good conversation with them both where they feel valued and are on board with the direction of the team.

It is only a two game sample, but Embiid's 30 points a game on 64% true shooting would be better than what Kawhi did during last year's playoffs, so Embiid is definitely doing his share on offense. Just shameful performances from the others and the team's defense generally.

The could have Embiid not drop so low in the paint and give the illusion that he might contest the jump shot but there is a reason they defend like that the pnr. You dont want having Embiid chase 6 foot Kemba around the court in a switch. Even if he could stay in front of him it would tire him and the Celtics would abuse it.

When tobi was struggling in game 2.

Would letting Burks play SG and Jrich sliding to SF the better move?

Play a Milton-Burks-JRich trio.

Raps run a small backcourt.
Blazers run a dame-cj-trent-nurkic-whiteside 5 man

This year’s deathball had CP3/Schroeder&SGA at 1,2&3 positions.

Dallas last night was killing the Clippers with Burke(lol), Curry and Hardaway Jr. The problem is, to run that type of offense you need a coach who actually knows what the **** is going on.
