i see this is one of those who’s more popular threads lol.
how is kawhi a more consistent scorer when pg has a higher career ppg and has the higher single season ppg between the two.
how can anyone say kawhi has a tigther handle when pg has damn near guard like movement at 6’9 and is shifty with the ball.
its closer than people think but ill give kawhi the edge.

Offensively, Kawhi is better at creating for himself, better in the mid range/getting to the rim/finishing at the rim. Some might say PG is the better playmaker, but honestly the difference between the two there is negligible.
Kawhi is just a different tier in level of strength and athleticism than PG.
Basically the difference is one is a #1 option on a contender and the other is a #2.
kawhi is not a good athlete...look at his dunks theres no explosiveness.
pg is actually better at getting to the rim and had a better floater package when he does. you are correct tho kawhi makes up for that with his mid ramge game.
people are sleeping on how smooth pg is on the offensive end

Thing is we saw it last few years. George needs extremely good point guard like Westbrook next to him who is willing to defer and create shots for him, yet take a lot of pressure off him. George in such situation in terms of impact is very close, but if you don't have that level of play in your team it's harder for him. I would say George plays slightly better defense but Leonard plays on another level offensively.

George is a career losers who consistenly makes everyone worse
People seem to forget that Paul George had a MVP year last year averaging 28 and finished 3rd in MVP voting. He also took the Pacers to the Conference Finals a few times but lost to Lebron’s super team heat. Kawhi is better but I don’t think it’s significant though
yeah his empty stat seasons is part of why he is such a horrible #2 star. he gets his at the expense of everyone else then comes up short when it counts most.
And yeah, im not giving anyone credit for getting to the "eastern conference finals" on the opposite of the lebron bracketing in the seeding. i mean you basically beat 2 trash teams to get there, congrats? nah.
Kawhi is so far and away better.
You clearly didn't watch OKC before all-star break...

Kawhi has been more consistent than George all season, and Kawhi has chronic knee issues that needs to be load managed. George might have a good night here or there but overall he hasent looked great in a Clipper Uniform. The trade is looking more awful over time. Too much to give up for George, who knows if Kawhi would have still signed with the Clippers if the Clippers just stood firm and not give in to the demands of Uncle Dennis.

Don’t know if it’s “significant” and it seem like both players are putting up similar numbers on the Clippers so far. If they do win the Finals this year I think it will be a coin toss on who wins Finals MVP. Whichever one is hot. Paul George has looked like the better player so far in the bubble
As far as this Clippers team goes they may be equally important
A coin toss? Like one of Two-Faces coins where he tricks people into thinking it's not just two heads? Because Paul George will never win FMVP over Kawhi.

Re: How big is the talent gap between Kawhi and Paul George? Which player is more important to Clippers?
The talent gap is minimal. Paul George is a phenomenal talent as is Kawhi.
The difference in BBall IQ, however, is huge. Kawhi's shot selection is much better than PG's. Kawhi is also far better at setting up the team's offense and ensuring productive possessions. Defensively, Kawhi is the smarter and more effective team defender.
This difference in BBall IQ has a larger impact on playoff performance and creates a wider gap between these two guys come playoff time.

I don't see George as a guy to single handedly lead a team. He had plenty of help with that Pacers squad.

Re: How big is the talent gap between Kawhi and Paul George? Which player is more important to Clippers?
Kawhi, especially in the Post Season is an MVP caliber player, Paul George is not.
There is a huge difference.
Because the PG trade landed Kawhi, it was worth it for that very reason. Take Kawhi off the Clippers and I have a hard time seeing the Clippers being any better than the current Raptors.
As for the Clippers being better than the Raptors because of George, the Raptors have 2 point guards that can be just as inconsistent as him with the 3 point shot. However since there 2 of them, odds are one of them will have a decent night behind the 3 point line.

Kawhi is slightly better but has significantly bigger pair to step up in the big moments which separates the good from great.

Kawhi is great and PG is a good player.
