Trey Burke is doing big things in significant minutes of playoff basketball. Has easily been their 3rd best shot creator in the bubble.

Those one year deals we give out are murder. The player gets paid (although Trey didn't really iirc) but the players are then damned if you do and damned if you don't. If they play well they're in the way of a player who could be here for the longer term. If they don't play well... well they don't play well.

We wouldn't have been good in time for him to be valuable, and his skillet isn't valuable enough to keep around as a UFA

just reviewing team's cap-space i was surprised to see the number of teams that could potentially nab him, including:

Bucks- Need at C
Hornets- Fits in with young core of Morant and JJJ
Trailblazers- Need at C and never afraid to make a splash
Warriors- Has WCS and Zubac at C...
Houston- Could use an upgrade at C and makes the most sense with that young roster and flexibility going forward
Spurs- Been suspiciously quiet irt Sabonis and has now made WCJr available...can he clear up enough space to sign picks and Sabonis?
NYK- If they lose out on Booker they could in the mix for Sabonis and roll out a Sabonis/Gobert front court , or could maybe squeeze in both Booker and Sabonis

Lakers could open up space if they wanted but likely drafting a C number 1
