I hate to say “must win” or anything, but the loser would have to win 3 of the final 4 and that won’t be easy for either team to pull off

Jump to an early lead and bait them to an offensive battle. If they're playing from behind, they'll probably play more of Lou Will or Shamet giving our players an easy target.

Putting Maxi on Kawhi is what makes the difference. But Maxi and KP could be in foul trouble early if Kawhi attack the same way in Game 2 last quarter. This is one thing. Things work out great early in Game 2 is because of zone defense. What if Clippers put 5 shooters on the floor?

I expect Morris-Kawhi-George-Williams-Beverely lineup at some point. Then, the zone defense strategy doesn't work out just like what's happening in the 4th quarter in Game 2. The supporting cast would face more physical defense. Could the Mavs keep rhythm without foul trouble and turnover problem? Could KP takes advantage against a smaller lineup?

I should say Morris-KP matchup may pay dividend either way. Because Harrell and Zubac are both dumb players to Mavs favor. If Morris is in foul trouble, Clippers offensive scheme collapse, too. And the Mavs zone defense will work again.

The line makers aren't as confident in the LAC winning game three. LAC is favored to win by 4.5 points. The previous two games by 6.5 was the line.

This. I think it's anyones game but falling behind here - especially for us - would be very difficult to come back from.

I think Mavs are under more pressure to win. Clippers are favorites and quite frankly more experienced and talented, it's just they are not clicking yet as a team. I give props to someone on this board, who claimed Mavs need to face them in the first round (sorry, can't remember who). Dallas have a real chance to surprise them with their pants down. But it's going to be real tough. I would be surprised such a team would lose in the 1st round.

I want to see KP getting the ball more on the offense. 13 FGA is not going to cut it. Role players are not going to go off every game. Both Doncic and KP should be taking around 20 shots (more/less if one of them is obviously with a hot/cold hand on a given day). I feel like KP's potential hasn't really been unleashed in this series so far. And one thing I really don't want to see is Mavs losing because he wasn't involved enough while guys like THJ and Burke took as many shots as him. Role players are role players for a reason.

i think its the other way around. the pressure is on the clipps to win. Kawhi and PG are just on 2 year deals. If they dont win this year they only have one more shot next year before they transfer teams again. Dallas has KP locked in and Luka on his rookie deal.

If the Mavs lose out on biggest name in 2021, are there anyone think waiting for Kawhi til 2022 and keep powder dry again is good strategy? The Mavs should have no more bad contract by then.

Interesting analysis. I think the frontcourt might impact the winning percentage a lot more than people recognize.

The frontcourt create space for backcourt shooter to operate or shoot. And the frontcourt also plays a big role in guarding Clippers' best players. Whether the Mavs frontcourt can enhance the effectiveness without fouling will make a big difference to the series. That's what I think.

Clippers coaching staff has been getting frustrated too. I give credit to RC for staying calm with the exception of a couple of poor calls by the refs.

The Mavs are under no pressure at all. They are expected to lose this series. This payoff experience is already a success for Luka and KP. Everything from now on is just gravy.

The Clippers have to be under tremendous pressure because they are expected to go far in the playoffs this year after acquiring PG13 and Kawhi.

I don't think he meant it that way. Clippers are obv the team with the more pressure on to win the series.

But i guess he meant this series isolated. Who is this game most important to in order to win the series? If Clippers wins i really don't see Mavs coming back. If Mavs wins, Clippers with that loaded team can still come back and will prob still be the favorites.

Luka's Fts will most likely cost us the game.

Luka is off for sure - but also credit Doc for playing Zubac 19 minutes. It really limits the space in the paint. And when we don't hit the open looks and gives up 45 points in a Q, it's a certain loss. Down 14. Get a quick run i the 2nd half and there might be a chance. But i think Clippers are running away with this one. I expect them to come out fast and close the game quickly.
