In an early look, I want defenders at nine. Especially in the post. Precious Achiuwa from Memphis and Isaac Okoro from Auburn are really strong defenders. Oknogwu might slide to 9 though I'm guessing people see the next Bam Adebayo in him. Similar size and frame.

Knicks are probably taking Cole Anthony so that could slide down Okong or Haliburton

Even if he's lying or telling half-truths, I don't think I've ever heard a Wizards/Bullets GM speak so openly before the draft.

IT's suckiness was so traumatic for Tommy so from now on every new guy has to be at least 6'7". :D

I doubt they move up but good to see Tommy being active.

Interesting that would be Tillman, Azubuike, Reed, Tillie as most likely with #37.

Lol, it sure sounds like Tommy is letting everyone know he wants to trade up for a big who can defend. The only one who really fits that description is Okongwu. The 37th pick isn't going to move them up more than 1 - if that. Tbh, I don't trust Tommy to make a trade-up that'll make any sense.

I'm just relieved they didn't fall to 10 or 11.

Here's how it goes (if we get lucky):
1. Minn - Edwards
2. GS - Wiseman
3. Char - Toppin
4. Chi - Avdija
5. Cle - Ball
6. Atl - Hayes
7. Det - Haliburton
8. NY - Okoro
9. Wash - Okongwu

The overly obvious way in which Tommy Shepherd is telegraphing that we want Okongwu makes me think that we actually don't want him and, in fact, Shepherd wants to pick a guard.

Bouncy defense is Achiuwa. He would be a nice fit as someone who can play on the wing and the block. Our team is very floor bound right now. It's crazy Wall has only played with below the rim bigs like Gortat, Nene, Seraphin, Markieff, Humphries, Jason Smith, Mahinmi, Mike Scott, Gooden, Okafor, Blatche, Lewis.

The only bouncy bigs hes played with have to be McGee(when he still had zero BBIQ and was terrible) , Booker, and Vesely.

I can actually see Tommy reaching for Achiuwa - which I think would be a big mistake. Yes, we need a defender/rebounder like him, but he's so bad offensively.

True that. Whatever he's doing, I'm not feeling confident about him making the decisions - though I do feel confident that he'll work a lot harder at it than EG.

Actually, I think his comments speak to him not having much faith in Rui and Bertans - though again - maybe he's blowing smoke. Afterall, they did have Rui up there representing the Wiz. And maybe he sees Rui and Bertans as 3's rather than 4's.

Yeah, if Okoro's gone, I can see that.

No way... Bryant is the starter, so you just need a solid, high IQ, defensive big to back him up. I see them sitting at 37 for Oturu, Tillman, or Tillie.
He says bouncy, but also size and defense, which to me means Haliburton & Vassell.
He also said he loves Brown as the Backup PG, so that rules out guys like Cole and Hampton.

To me, it sound like Okongwu, Okoro, or Vassell at 9...

I swear, if we trade a future 1st to move up in the draft in some effort to get immediate help for Wall & Beal Ill throw my damn phone out the window.

I like Precious okay and I am not super low on him, still top20, but he would be a terrible pick at 9th man

I think one of Vassell, Okoro (unlikely) and Okongwu will be there and that'd be the pick, I'd choose Vassell 1st of the 3 if available, pretty simple

The way I see it, if there are no trades (hard to see one happening right now)

MIN; Ball
GS; Edwards
CHO; Wiseman
CHI; Avdija
CLE; Toppin
ATL; Okoro
DET; Haliburton or Okongwu
NY; Haliburton, Maxey or Hayes

So kinda depends on what Detroit does, but I think Vassell likely will be there, I prefer him over Okongwu because I buy his upside more plus it's easier to just find adequate defense from your bigs than a multi-positional wing

I do think they take Okongwu if he is there, Precious if he is not

A nice visual job for sure, the mock itself makes 0 sense and corroborates that a) they just want the clicks and to look different and b) they have no sources whatsoever
