1) He can play SG/SF, which is what you need with Deng probably gone this year or next, and Wade moving to a 6th man role after next year.

2) He has a very high upside, potential to become a top3 NBA player in his position (Both SG and SF).

3) He's a great shooter, which we need at the wing. But also has great size to defend.

4) He's young but not green, got experience playing real minutes for the best club in Europe. Ready to contribute from day 1.

5) He's both athletic and skilled and can shoot, unlike most prospects. That's the triple package.

Justise Winslow/Stanley Johnson are also good options, but have less offensive potential IMO. and will probably never shoot as good as him.

The only problem I have with the assets for Harris was that he was becoming a free agent at the end of last year. I actually like the Embiid(C), Butler(SF), and Harris(PF) being their top 3 players and just give them a solid shooting PG and a shooter as the 5th guy. Had they moved Simmons last year for say a package somewhere in the ballpark of what the AD package got, the Philly team would probably be a multiple championship team in the next 10 years. Philly not deciding between Embiid and Simmons by now will probably lead to Embiid to ask out and trying to force himself to maybe... Miami, which I mentioned near the beginning of this season. I'm not sure I've ever seen 2 players as talented as Simmons and Embiid who's games were the exact opposite that you'd want for their teammate.

I also have the belief that Simmons will start shooting the ball once Embiid and Simmons are no longer teammates. I really believe Simmons does not want to play off of Embiid and once he starts showing he's willing to shooting the offense will be catered to Embiid. Simmons needs to be in the same type of role Giannis or Westbrook are in.

In the aggregate, they traded Covington and Saric for JRich + Butler for half of a szn, which is fine.

No, Harris can't be your 3rd best player. He got 180mills, but he's just marginally better than Aaron Gordon or Kyle Kuzma

He can be if you have Embiid and Butler as your #1 and #2... oh and have a good coach.

There is absolutely zero excuse for one of all time greats to get locked up by Gary Trent buddy.

Do you need fans cheering for you to make layups and 3 point shots? sheesh

With that said, that guy is a salty Cavs beat writer just trying to steer chit up with drama lolz

GSW has to trade the pick....right?

Possibly, but for what exactly?

I think there is one dysfunctional team in these playoffs that is likely to have a disgruntled star who might be available. Someone who'd be the right talent and timeline as the rest of their guys. They'd have to give up more than the 2nd pick though. All their tradable picks to be honest.

Spoiler:
Embiid

They have a better chance at a JRich/Horford package than anything that looks like a top 20 player

I think GSW should not trade the pick. Their two stars are coming off of injuries and will need a season to get back to form. Curry might be at top form next season but doubt Klay will. Plus the talent at the top two picks are good enough to contribute early at a high level. The pick can be ready for big time play the following season. Best to move Draymond for better veteran role players.

perfect time for them to trade down and draft Wiseman or Daniel Oturu or Vernon Carey.

one late mock has Jaden McDaniels slipping past us to the Celtics. That guy will be a baller.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Idk Twix, picks are like cars they’re worth way less once you actually use them.

I think if they’re committed to Curry and Klay long term they should package it with Wiggins and try to steal Bradley Beal.

NOOOOOOOO :vent:

Let me enjoy GSW's demise QUIZ :x

But knowing how aggressive their GM is, it's safe to assume that they'll definitely try to make one big splash for Curry Klay and Draymond.

Craptors keep getting breaks since last year's playoffs. They got the easiest 1st round opponent in decimated Nets, and will face Boston without Hayward or shambled 76ers (not likely). Free pass to ECFs sheesh

Didn't expect Utah to put up a fight let alone Mike Conley to turn back the clock to 2014 right out of quarantine...

I was hopeful that Denver would be more formidable, but it doesn't look like it. This is the most wide open playoffs in a while and I guess that's good for the league. Adam Sliver was right that you don't have to manipulate parity.
