If the draft was today, you told me I couldn't trade the pick, and Wiseman/Edwards were off the board, this would probably be my pick.

If we can't get either of those two and we aren't in love with Hayes or Avdija I'd trade back for Haliburton. Take advantage of the Knicks desperation and get another top 2021 pick to pair with our own.

I don't want Lamello Ball in Charlotte.

A lot to like in a 6'5 guard who is an elite passer and shoots 40% plus from 3.

It's a solid pick. He has a nice combo of high floor with All-Star ceiling. And players who can dominate while elevating the play of teammates rule the modern NBA. I would not be disappointed.

He really does tick almost all of the boxes.

The only thing that seems to be missing is that explosive 1st step that will help him get past defenders.

Other than that though, he might actually be #2 on my “I want him” list.

Why I have Hayes over him, same apparent weakness as Devonte'. The injury doesn't help, but a fine player nonetheless.

He reminds of George Hill back when Hill was a good basketball player, except Haliburton has better size and is a better passer. I dont think he has the upside has some of the other picks but he would be a very solid pick. We could snatch him at 5 or 6 though if we traded down.

Halliburton seems like the only can't-miss prospect to me. I don't know if he'll ever be an all-star but with his size, skill and IQ I would be genuinely shocked if he's not a quality starter in the league.

I could definitely see him being similar to Draymond Green, not in his overall game but in the way his impact will scale in the NBA. Green on a great team is super valuable because he's got a lot of good skills as a connecting piece, but on a crap roster he doesn't shine quite so much. Halliburton might be that same type of guy.

Personally really like this kids game. If we stayed at 8, this is who I wanted to target. I wouldn’t mind trading back if we aren’t thrilled with whoever falls to 3 to us to try and target him and pick up another asset or two.

Hotrod must be loving this.

Hotrod was singing the praises of Haliburton about 2 years ago when no one even knew who Haliburton was.

(I’m pretty sure it was hotrod?).

Yeah this is actually my #3 player on my big board. Just love his game and fit in today's NBA, he has a little bit of SGA to his game and damn that kid haunts me every single night. I really think I want us to focus on a guard or wing with this pick, I'm sure we can find rim-protecting prospects at 32

I feel like Haliburton needs more press. He has the complete all-around game and polish that Kupchak seems to favor. He fits in our backcourt and he has some upside. He's a two-way player while those are becoming more rare in the age of 18 year old draft picks with agents gunning for money.

I agree. I don't really know what's missing from his game that people don't consider him a top 3-5 guy. He fits in perfectly with the modern NBA

He absolutely does. Love how he can be deployed in almost any scheme, he can control the rock or play off ball with Devonte. Shot over 40% on three point attempts, I'm really not sure what's missing? I really don't know why he and Hayes both aren't getting more top 5 buzz.

That's probably where he has a leg up on Hayes. It looks like he's really worked at that part of his game, kinda like PJ.

He is a really good glue guy- reminds me of Delon Wright or Marcus Smart in the way he just grinds on both ends of the floor.

Shot form is a bit wonky, but he has shot 40% both years in college which is impressive.

His passing is also very good, would rank him behind Ball tho in this category. However he is a way better defender then Ball.

My biggest concerns with him are he isn’t super explosive but he makes up with his size and length.

Lastly he isn’t a very good scorer in the midrange game, most likely because he shoots from his chest. This leads to him taking a ton of deep threes where defenders are giving him room- much like Ball.

He seems like the higher floor player between him and Lamelo without the superstar ceiling. Probably not worth considering at 3 but a good get between 6-10

It's the seals that stand out to me. Combined with assists that sounds like strong court awareness.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
