Re: Prospect Thread: James Wiseman
I don't ever pay any attention to interviews, so I don't have a good point of reference, but I liked his mindset in this video.

I feel this is the kid we need to discuss the most. What we want from him isn't a stretch at all considering his tools. But then I look at the uploads and see him getting dunked on by people who should've had no chance. I'm worried enough I think Edwards' weaknesses are easier to "player develop" away. Seriously, boom or bust? Where is the needle pointing?

This is my pick as well, really think he has the potential to be a similar player to Embiid

Re: Prospect Thread: James Wiseman
I’ll admit I should learn more about Wiseman before I really really get behind him but if he has a good shot, can make free throws and has any kind of range then sign me up because he will have the physical toolset to provide the other things we need in a big man (rim protection, rebounding).

Re: Prospect Thread: James Wiseman
Is it just me or are the only negatives said about Wiseman are the same said about PJ Washington last year, and Washington turned out pretty good.
I think a Wiseman/Washington frontcourt would be pretty lethal, especially if both of them can hit 3's.
I also like the way he interviewed way, way more than Edwards or Ball

This is why I like him the most in this class
He's a top talent and is an exceptional fit next to PJ

My biggest problem with WIseman is 3 college games played. I'm pretty worried about drafting a guy based on high school tape from two years ago.

Conflicted on Wiseman. I like his interviews, but I'm hugely skeptical of using high picks on centers. He would address a huge team need in terms of defense and interior rebounding ... but is he a guy that will help lift the team not just to the playoffs but deep into it (and that's what I want from a top 3 pick)?
I can see the Warriors drafting him, but I also see him as the top 3 guy most likely falling to #3 if the Warriors make a trade.

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Yup. In a year of so many unknowns with the pandemic and it's impact on getting players in and the combine etc, the last thing he needed was to only play 3 college games.
Its a worry.

That's the NCAA's fault. They're too concerned about athletes that make college athletic departments millions of dollars a year taking a relatively small piece of the pie. All the while ignoring the rampant corruption and self-dealing that college administrators and coaches engage in.

Could you imagine though:
PG: Tae = High BBIQ, elite passing and long range shooting
SF: Bridges = Super athletic, strong defending, good rebounding, can hit the catch and shoot 3 ball
PF: 3J = 2 way playing, physical, rebounding, shot blocking, can hit the catch and shoot 3 ball
C: Wiseman = Rim protecting, rebounding, super agile, good hands, above the rim, can step out and shoot the J
Then next year, if we hit on a SG who became our #1 scoring option......
Man, that's a HELL of a balanced and promising line up with some awesome tools.

I dont think they have anything the Warriors want. Warriors want to win now. Unless the Knicks trade future first rounders which would be utterly stupid. Its the Knicks though, so who knows.
What if they offered:
NYK pick (#8) and Mitch Robinson
For
#2 (Ball)

I doubt Robinson alone gets them the second pick. Probably would have toss in a future first as well.

Already got me looking at 2021 free agency for a sg

He's not a great shooter yet, he only shot one three in college in a small sample size but in high school, he regularly hit the trey. Give him one or two offseasons and I think he can become pretty good from outside for a big

Re: Prospect Thread: James Wiseman
If he hits 3's in workouts with a smooth stroke, there is no way he is lasting til the 3rd pick.
If he struggles to shoot, I could see us passing on him at 3 for Hayes.
How weird that the top 3 picks all have shooting form questions.

Re: Prospect Thread: James Wiseman
The more I think about it the more I come to the conclusion that Wiseman has the best chance of any of the consensus top 3 to reach his full potential on this team. I wouldn't be opposed to asking the Warriors what they would want to trade picks.

Thought about that too, maybe something with Zeller + 32 + 3 for the Second pick. Would give the Warriors a veteran center who fits their team a bit more than Wiseman, plus they'll still have the third to play around with other teams with.
I do think there is a very good chance Wiseman will be there at 3, the Warriors could trade the pick to the Suns, Knicks or Hawks who already have centers or the Warriors might not want a 19-year-old center whose gonna be primarily playing inside
