Trump's approval rating is 42% currently, not 51%.

He has literally never been above 50% as a president. His absolute peak was 45%.

Thanks for linking those articles they’re really good. So what do you believe are possible solutions or alternatives to the drone strikes?

Same question I ask about intervening in countries like Libya and Syria. What’s a better way to address dictators because I don’t agree letting civilians die but intervention also has its costs.

Use diplomatic means to address the issue. Did I just blow your mind?

Wingo, as much as I prefer diplomatic solutions to everything, they haven't been effective in the Middle East, especially. Sometimes things need to be addressed more quickly.

You can continue to cherry pick everything with a low intellect spin to show how morally superior you are, but I will continue to expose your BS.

Letter From a Birmingham Jail has far more than a single quote taken out of context.

In this message, MLK also said

Yet you act like the Democrats winning is a perpetuation of evils against the oppressed when it is obvious the Trump administration is the greatest enemy to justice imaginable. You will have zero law and order leading to real justice with Trump.

Your proclamation of love for the black man as if you are somehow a superior white man is just another vulgarization of racial divisions that is offered not as a valid critique of those you disagree with, but as a crude form of virtue signaling that exposes your unearned vanity and is matched only by your delusion of superiority.

You think you care more about people or black people than others? You slimeball. How dare you infer you're better. This is all about you. It always has been.

There has never been an enemy of the people, much less black people, in our lifetime as great as Trump. You want to rectify history, then your only chance will be to win and then either reform the democratic system or start your own party and change the system completely. But since you won't do anything of the sort, you'll content yourself with this smug BS that somehow you're better than everyone except a card carrying leftie that passes your infantile smell tests.

MLK also wrote:

And somehow you construe this to mean that anyone who doesn't grovel at the feet of far left orthodoxy lacks any sense of urgency about injustice. You have no clue about what people feel or believe except yourself. You don't have a license to claim you're the only ones who care about the oppressed or that those who want to beat back a pack of Nazis are complacent apologists for business as usual.

Unlike petulant, self-centered, morally righteous children like you, the adults in the room actually understand how bad system inequities are, but they don't spend all their time attacking the candidates who can beat the Nazis which can then lead to a restoration of enough stability to address these inequities.

You don't get to play the you're better card anymore Wingo. You valorize your mental instability as righteous anger, but in truth you're just an unstable one trick pony whose only go to play is tell people they are neo-liberals. You know nothing about others, because you don't listen and you don't learn, because you only care about how it makes you look. You deserve taking a beating, because that is the only thing you apparently understand based on your non-stop bullying of any issue into a bloody pulp without nuance

you took that last quote out of context and cut it off as to make it appear to be saying the exact opposite thing he was saying. he was criticizing the guy who was saying "these things take time" and saying the time is now

"Such an attitude stems from a tragic misconception of time, from the strangely irrational notion that there is something in the very flow of time that will inevitably cure all ills. Actually, time itself is neutral; it can be used either destructively or constructively. More and more I feel that the people of ill will have used time much more effectively than have the people of good will. We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people. Human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability; it comes through the tireless efforts of men willing to be co workers with God, and without this hard work, time itself becomes an ally of the forces of social stagnation. We must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democracy and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. Now is the time to lift our national policy from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of human dignity."

It is a long letter and it was a big enough quote already, not just a snippet as you seem to be inferring. If people are not going to read the whole letter in full I'm not going to be able to contextualize everything for them anyway.

So you're telling me the time is now

OK, cool. What are you doing NOW?

Are you registering new voters?

What are you personally doing NOW?

TODAY. THIS WEEKEND. Tell us

Or are you are going to reveal a better strategy than winning in November and continuing to back candidates that can move the Democrats to the left?

Because unless you're doing something that actually is radically different in real life terms, on the ground, then telling someone else they are less urgent than you is just posturing.

I see a Biden victory as our country replacing all the missing bricks and mortar that shore up the Constitution of our democracy. It is in imminent danger of collapsing.

We still need to completely renovate the house build on that frame - houses need to be updated over the years, and now we need a major renovation. Fortunately, Biden's political life expectance is 4 years or less. That means that while the foundation is being shored up, we have times to draw up new plans for the house. We have time to start rebuilding. And we can bring in the right construction crew to rebuild our house in the way we all want it to be rebuilt now - with fairness, liberty, and justice for all (Not just for some).

If Trump prevails and the foundation crumbles, we won't be able to have a house at all. We will all fall prey to the wolves, both international and domestic. It will be the end of our American experiment.

So I ask that we keep the larger picture in mind, work to make this happen now, and continue working even harder to make the future brighter for all.

But, the version the right want to discuss is trade wars over IP violations and the manufacturing of a virus. Human rights and the freedom of HK is not on their playlist.

The Chinese government sucks. They are genocidal and want to rule the world, none of which I dispute, but only a fool or a cult member would believe Trump is handling China.

Wait until we find out from his tax records which of Trump's loans came from a Chinese bank. I've seen rumors he owes them around 200 Million.

Ivanka even got a Chinese patent on a voting machine she wants to build and install in America.

And Trump shipping PPE in great quantities to China just as our pandemic took off is something I'd like Biden to ask about.

Nothing about Trump and China suggests to me he is actually their foe. Anyone who falls for that is a sucker.

I think Biden needs to have a stronger stance on China or at least show it off more. So I think he needs to bring it up if possible. Be a little more aggressive on the subject.

I'm afraid DNC is falling into Trump's trap here.

Will Trump's tax records be released before November?

Biden hasn't yet really addressed China. Clearly, we cannot be as dependent on them going forward as we have been. We need to protect ourselves from any attempts they make to subvert us, either political, militarily, electronically, or economically. But in order to restore things, we can't continue to have an emotion-drive, nearly schizophrenic approach that is devoted to simply winning the next election for the President. Putting the US's interest about craven personal gain would be an amazing first step forward.

This is not the kind of issue that can easily be explained to all the electorate during a campaign. Slogans, angry denunciations, and even false promises get so much more attention than reasoned plans. I see yesterday's speech and the Biden campaign so far as the TL;DR version of what he plans to do. As such, it was well presented to the average voters. Many of us want to know far more, and I'm looking for answers before too long.

Right, two decades of war with no end in sight. USA USA! You can't do these things at the point of a gun? No one has ever beat the Afghans in Afghanistan. Russia couldn't do it. "The Bush Doctrine" was a complete failure. We've actually made things much worse there. There was no reason to go into Iraq.

BKlutch, to the extent to you're talking about the failure of negotiations to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine, we've never been a fair deal-broker in those attempts. What we need to do - like Bernie says - is to cut off funding to Israel until they understand who is Big Daddy and who is Junior. It does what we tell them to do, not the other way around which is the way it's been.

Stannis,

Rasmussen is notorious for stacking their polls with registered Republicans. It is known as the the Trump poll. 538 includes them in their aggregates out of some kind of sense of fair play, but their weighting of their numbers have to be adjusted more than any other poll because they always skew 5-10 points off the mean. Rasmussen is BS.

Thoughts?

Wonder how this will turn out. As if voting isn't already a chore. There's laws in place where police can't question and intimidate voters, but how else would they monitor and prevent "fraud"? What will they accomplish that a video camera could not?

I'm sure it's just his typical over the top manner of speaking. There are people called Poll Watchers, I've been one. They are the people that are trained to make sure everything remains on the up and up. One each for Dems and Reps.

Side note: only the volunteer Poll Watchers and the people that work there are allowed inside once the polls close.

During the 2016 primary I was one in a Democratic stronghold of a major powerbroker. With the poll closed, in walks a troupe of about 10 or 12 oddballs with the leader saying to the boss of the poll workers that they were approved from whoever was that guys boss to take "a tour."

Well let me tell you, that is totally **** illegal. The doors close, that's it, no one gets inside and that's to protect the integrity of the election. But in a Democratic stronghold with Hillary Clinton's triumph on the line that was no impediment.

Only polling place I've ever seen with a huge **** commercial ballot printer. SOME of the people coming in were given those, most were given the regular ballots everyone gets. The newly printed ones were probably assorted dead people or whatever.

Second Side Note: Here is a link to Democratic Voter Fraud everyone tells me doesn't exist and it invves Mail In Ballots for the added spice. I don't want to ever again hear about how this **** doesn't exist. They have to do the election over.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/08/21/judge-orders-election-redo-after-nj-democrats-charged-with-voter-fraud/

State Superior Court Judge Ernest Caposela issued the ruling on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press (AP).

“It was the right ruling. That past election was fraught with fraud,” Mayor Andre Sayegh remarked, according to CNN.

“The City will comply with the judge’s decision and we created the Mayor’s Election Awareness Team to preserve the value of the vote in Paterson,” he noted.

The AP article continued:

Alex Mendez had won a special election on May 12 to fill the seat, but claims of voter fraud were soon raised. An investigation was then launched after the U.S. Postal Service’s law enforcement arm told the state attorney general’s office about hundreds of mail-in ballots located in a mailbox in Paterson, along with more found in nearby Haledon.

In June, Breitbart News reported that election fraud charges were announced against Paterson City Councilman Michael Jackson (D), Councilman-elect Alex Mendez (D), Shelim Khalique, and Abu Razyen:

Mendez, 45-years-old, has been charged with second-degree election fraud, third-degree fraud in casting mail-in votes, third-degree unauthorized possession of ballots, third-degree false registration or transfer, third-degree tampering with public records, and fourth-degree falsifying or tampering with records.

Following the announcement, President Trump cited the case as an example of what could happen with mail-in voting:

Trump’s reelection campaign, the Republican National Committee (RNC), and the New Jersey Republican Party filed suit Tuesday to “invalidate Governor Phil Murphy’s Executive Order 177” regarding a universal vote-by-mail system.

Would she have dropped out if she was in a position to win?

All it took was Tulsi Gabbard to call her out on her record in a debate one night for her to plummet. What do you think is going to happen when her record is put on blast night in and night out heading towards the general?

That makes no sense. She dropped out because she ran out of money. And I’ve already shown that Tulsi’s attack on her was purposely misleading. I can dig up the post for you and repost it if you like.

Anyone who cites Tulsi Gabbard as an indicator of future success is a believer in fairy tales.

Oh, and by the way, what happened to Gabbard's fortunes after that?

(Crickets)

Tulsi was quite the power broker with her two delegates from American Samoa

She's a sham. Using her for evidence is laughable

Not really, its that whole "good guy" thing. They cant possibly get rid of her cuz they'd be labeled sexists. Shes pretty much an albatross until such time as she chooses to step down.

I betcha you don't watch MSNBC and CNN because they both fawn all over The Queen or Mama Bear or whatever. They never challenge her live on the air.
Even on Reddit Politics she's a hero.

Yea, she's against Trump. But that doesn't make her some hero. She's still whack.

Show off her 10 different types of chocolate ice cream from her two refrigerators worth about $10K each with her shawl over his shoulder and all that jewelry and make up while people were dying of COVID. She needs to go soon. She said she'd step down in after the '22 midterms. We'll see.

She made so much damn money from her insider trading. Where else did she get all of that money?
