Jays@Rays Aug 21-24
Sweeping the Rays in Florida will be exciting. No clue who’s pitching. Ryu at some point probably.

I don’t know what possible explanation there can be for batting Jansen 3rd and biggio 8th. What a ridiculous lineup

Re: Jays@Rays Aug 21-24
One of our best hitters batting 8th, with Drury and Shaw ahead of him? Odd.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Gurriel's having himself quite a game in a very unconventional sort of way.
Edit: apparently he didn't Matrix quite enough.

The glove did move slightly - almost imperceptible, but out is probably the right call.

2nd time this year the idiot has had Espinal bunt with two strikes in a situation where it made no sense. 2nd time it has ended in a strikeout.
2nd time it has ended in a loss?
2nd time it has ended in a loss?

Re: Jays@Rays Aug 21-24
Montoya at it again.
* Pulls Shoemaker at ~80 pitches for no reason at all. He doesn't seem to want a starter to throw more than 90 pitches.
* Habitually calling for bunts with 2 strikes.
* Batting Jansen at 3 and Biggio at 8? What?
He may be the worst manager we've ever had. I almost hope we lose this one so we can tally another L on games that Montoya has lost for us.

2nd time you directly tell your young player, "I don't believe in you".
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

It can't be good for a player's confidence to know your manager thinks your hitting skills are about on par with a NL pitcher. He had McGuire bunt with 2 strikes yesterday. He happened to get it down, but that still doesn't make it the correct decision.

Shoemaker has an extensive injury history.
Anyway, can’t wait to see if Font or whatever position player we bring in to pitch in the bottom half can hang on to the lead.

Every button Montoyo pushed in this inning worked out. Christ I bet he told Grichuk specifically to hit a double at this point.
