Post#1 » by clyde21 » Sat Aug 22, 2020 11:25 pm

all 3 first picks so far have not even been close

1. Minnesota: Anthony Edwards
2. Golden State: James Wiseman
3. Charlotte: LaMelo Ball
4. Chicago:

I like Deni here, they will need a wing/forward with OPJs contract coming to a end and will help with some playmaking since Coby White is viewed more of a scoring guard than a true point.

I voted for Cole and Killian. At this point I lean towards Killian.

You can build around an explosive backcourt with a rim protector, add an elite SF defender in the future.

So your offense is backcout (Colby & ?), PF (Markk) and opportunity players who are more defenders (rim running/put back C & 3&D SF)

Although Cole fits more with my vision for this team, I voted Killian because at this point I see more safety in drafting Killian.

Deni.

Darnell Mayberry on Deni...

It’s not just that Avdija could be the most talented prospect remaining on the board. He also could embody everything the league is now about. He’s long. He’s versatile. He’s smart. In an era of positionless basketball and units now mandating multiple playmakers, Avdija could thrive in Chicago as a secondary playmaker.

is he going to disappoint them when they realize he isnt long at all or is meh athletically at the draft combine? no because he will be advised to not participate most likely.

No individual workouts will see teams make some mammoth mistakes.

I am guessing maybe there will be enough push back about just that , the league postpones the draft until November or later in hopes of a vaccine being around but that seems wishful at best that soon

It depends on the new coach's priorities, but BPA would be Hayes or Okoro, imo.

I would like us to either trade up for Ball (if it doesn't cost heaps) or move down. But if we stay at 4, I'm going Hayes. Don't hate Deni but he's overrated. Poku and Vassell also in the convo for me.

The Bulls are pretty unpredictable in this draft. They have so many guards on contract, they’ll still have Otto Porter and Hutchison started to finally play well around the end of the season. Then they have too many centers and three promising bigs in Markkanen and Wendell Carter, who are both basically centers. Under the previous staff I would say Toppin could have easily been picked, but this staff is going to try to get the best player they can and they’ll be privy to drafting an international guy. Hayes is a real possibility if they think he’s the best they can get.

I don't think the trade up would make sense for Minnesota, I wouldn't do Lauri+2nd+4th for 1st if I were them, and I highly doubt the Bulls would be willing to offer more than that

So it's kinda rough, if Minnesota doesn't take LaMelo for some reason and he is there at 2, then I think that package could make sense for GS actually

If they stay at 4th the pick is going to be Avdija or Hayes in real life, I'd pick Deni, I like him more but could go either way

I like Hayes the most, but Avdija is a much better fit here so I think he'll be the pick.

I doubt it, but I sure hope Deni is gone at 4 for CLE sake, cant stand the idea of adding a secondary playmaker that wont break down defenses and cant defend mulitple positions and needs to improve as a shooter...not at 5th. maybe at 12-17 range

I picked Hayes and Deni with Hayes being the choice if it's a tie.

Should add Nesmith to the poll next. Hes gonna be a draft riser in my opinion.

I voted Okoro. I'm not convinced that Deni is a 3, and I like him a lot less as a 4 (would rather have Toppin). Okoro seems to have a pretty high floor, and he has flashed some things on offense that suggest room for pretty dramatic improvement.
