I think several of our posters have said that - too many times.
Malone has his own ideas and mostly they work but he isn't very willing to change! I don't understand why.

Even Malone fan's would take Popvich --- but we all KNOW that is NOT going to happen

Looking into the future, Malone has an all-star center in Jokic (age 25), an improving point guard that can shoot and run the offense in Murray (age 23) and a lights out shooting small forward in MPJ (age 22). All will probably be averaging near 20 points a game or more (MPJ).
I would say that with that much talent, that young, plus a group of solid veterans throughout the lineup, Malone is going to be Denver's coach for a long time.

George Karl was fired the year he won Coach of the Year - coaches probably never feel secure (except Popovich). Karl was evidently fired because as good as he was during the year, he wasn't considered a winner in the playoffs.

If I remember correctly there was a contract dispute with Karl that led to his firing.

That's what was said, but still, low-balling a coach the same year he gets Coach of the Year, that's the same as firing.
