How da hell you can shoot 27,3% for a game?

It looks like we can hold off Bucks on this 110 points mark, now, next game try to pass 105 points mark yourself :banghead:

Vuc in two games has been such a difference maker, yet this game guy had no help whatsoever

Postgame after game-1, Clifford said the key to the win was hitting the 3-ball.

7-33 was nowhere near enough here in game-2. Had the Magic hit 35%, that would have been 12-33, which 15 more points. In other words, an OT would have occurred with even 35% three-ball.

Whats positive its that if we changed the names of the teams everybody would say this game was a fluke. We are still not done, Bucks are not the Raptors, we have a chance.

Since it’s the Magic though and not the Bucks, I don’t see how it’s a fluke? How many of these crap shooting games have we had all year? New year same weakness as a team.

It’d be a fluke game if we shot anything respectable from 3 like game 1.

Through 2 games Fournier is averaging 10 points on 10 field goals (33%), 3 rebounds per game, 3 assists, and 2 turnovers while simultaneously averaging 35 minutes per game. DJ is averaging a whopping 10 ppg while shooting 18% from the field (20% from 3), and is grabbing 2 rebounds/dishing 8 assists while still eating up 26 minutes per night.

Considering the role Clifford has those two play when they are on the court, those numbers flat out aren't good enough. The numbers Fournier is putting up so far is also exactly what his numbers looked like over the course of the 5 game Toronto series as well.

Idk if the moment is just too big for him, but if it is, Clifford needs to sit his ass on the bench and play someone who is ready. The Fournier I've watched so far looks scared, passive, and reluctant to shoot with any type of confidence outside of a few short stretches of this series so far.

There is a reason the Bucks is statistically a great defensive team.

Wasn't able to post during game but Vuc is doing enough, finally. Glad to see him step up. I honestly thought we could have won that game and that we beat ourselves with poor shooting on good to great looks. We just match up well against the Bucks and they are not as demoralizing as last year's Raptors team. We might be able to pull off another win this series before ultimately losing.

It's a make or miss league at the end of the day. We can talk about rotations and schemes all day, but when the players who are supposed to be your 3 point shooters and floor spacers go 3/21, there is not much a coach can do. The score flatters us a bit since I think the refs took pity on us in the first half when we couldn't make a basket to save our lives and gave us some very generous FTs, especially DJ, who kept jumping into defenders and getting calls. Still, a good comeback in the second half and the Bucks didn't look all that great overall, so we might have a bit of a shot in the next games if we shot better and Fournier improves.

I finished the replay of the game this morning. We just need more out of our back court collectively. It's on all of Augustin, Fournier, and Fultz to be better. Ross comes and goes.

Upgrading the back court has to be a #1 priority in the off-season.

The missed shots dug us hole to start. But that's how our season has gone. Very little consistency with shooting. Lots of peaks and valleys. And you can't expect much more than that with the construction of the roster. I thought overall the effort and execution was good again. The Bucks hit more shots this game.

Does anyone think the addition of Gordon and or MCW will make much of a difference?

C'mon. an additional scorer in AG? Plus a more defensive guard to chase around their 3pointers in MCW? It certainly will change the dynamics of the game.

Gordon can score in multiple ways, and he’s a good defender, rebounder and passer as well. He’d also allow us to limit Clark’s minutes.

Carter-Williams is a good defender and rebounder who can attack and pass.

Is there a reason to believe they won’t make a difference?

Stopped paying attention to the game after the Ennis ejection. I dont know why I always act surprised at how arbitrarily soft the NBA is.

I think Gordon and MCW are both better than a player like Fournier. Fournier just isn't athletic enough to create against a good defense. The best case scenario for him is to play off a superstar like Giannis or Harden.

But the question is would they have made a difference? And the answer is still no. The magic have only beat a team over .500 only 6 times the whole season even when healthy. Now you are asking them to do this against the best team in the league in 7 games. This was blow a blowout series waiting to happen.

Those guys cant shoot. Well, maybe better than Iwundu, but not much of a difference, the offense will still be an eyesore.

Gordon is painful against Bucks for couple of years.

This year 4 games

8 ppg
23% FG

2018-19
2 games, 30% FG, 11 ppg

2017-18
2 games
11 ppg , 28% FG

Simply terrible, Giannis and their defense dwarfs him.
