As valid of a point as you've made you can pretty much go to any Hornets draft and find a better player we could've drafted. Really the only drafts I felt we got stuff right on were the Emeka Okafor draft and the Kemba Walker draft (hopefully PJ Washington joins that list). Basically we've **** it every other time.

'Technically', SGA was a hornets pick. Considering what Bridges is worth, this one is the most painful i guess.

The main issue is that Hornets don't tank enough to land top lottery pick (top 3) unlike many other teams

see you say that but it isn't like there haven't been players on the board that would help our team nearly every draft- we just always miss them. Even when we draft high we draft poorly. Kemba is our best ever pick at #9 and we had drafted Biyombo before him at #7 just for contextual evidence of how much we suck at drafting. Dude we drafted Zeller in the top 4. Picked up a Center in Frank that we never intended to use, and once upon a time wasted picks on guys like Sean May and Adam Morrison.

Looks like Kemba will be advancing to the 2nd round for the first time with relative ease. I just hope the storyline doesn't end up being how Charlotte held him back for so long :(

His time in Charlotte was up when he made All-NBA. Kemba WORKED himself into the player he is. That'll be the narrative.

How has Walker looked for the Celtics during the regular season and now in the bubble?

His %’s and stats look ok on paper?

Damnit, I thought Dallas vs LAC was the late game and missed an instant classic. Doncic is just unbelievable...

He's had knee problems off and on this year. He hasn't quite been what I expected he'd be for the Celtics, but they don't need him to be a 25 a night guy since Jaylen Brown stepped up this year

Hes done very well imo. Hes been able to focus on being a leader and doesnt have the burden of carrying them every night. The Celtics run a very balanced offensive attack where hes able to pick his spots, so his numbers were always going to decline, but they are still quite good. He struggled at times when he was trying to play through injuries and he still put up 20/4/5 on 43/38/86 shooting splits in the regular season.

In their series against Philly he put up 24/4/4 on 49/30/92 shooting splits and they won 4-0.

Interesting read on how good and important shooting has become in the bubble. It has some draft implications, but also some longer "what should NBA basketball look like" implications.

https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/moore-in-the-bubble-the-nbas-3-point-revolution-has-finally-rendered-all-alternatives-invalid

Teams that make fewer than 15 3-pointers this postseason are 12-18 ATS, while teams that make 15 or more 3’s are 11-4 ATS and 11-4 SU. This represents a drop from 80% ATS for teams with more than 15 3’s to 74%, meaning that being a good shooting team isn’t enough, because your opponent might just outshoot you.

It’s not a way to counter getting outplayed. It literally renders everything else moot.

What’s more, there’s not a lot of sustainability fluctuation. The Heat have been above 54% eFG in all three games of the series. The Jazz have maintained a 130-plus offensive rating thanks to Denver’s wretched defense.

If you don’t have premium, top-line offensive creators, you’re sunk. If you don’t have knockdown shooters, you’re in trouble. Even if you have both, like the Clippers, it may not matter if the opponent has a better combo of creator and scorer.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

The 3 point line needs to be moved back, the skill level is too high now to justify the additional point given.

maybe if they let guys play defense then people wouldn't be shooting without a care in the world

Kemba has always played well against Philly and Toronto. If they make it past Toronto, Milwaukee or Miami have guards that can keep him in check.

Kemba finished with 18/3/10 on 11 shots with only 2 turnovers. Excellent game management. Boston up 1-0.

Love watching this Mavs team, they are fun to watch.

Finney-Smith could play big minutes for any team in the league.

Curry has really turned the corner this year on both ends.

Boban is good for a couple laughs and gasps a game.

Hardaway can get hot in a minute.

Trey Burke seems to have figured out his role.

Maxi Kleber is another guy like DFS, can just do a lot of good things on the court.

Luka is electric, I wish he would stop complaining so much tho. Once he steps his focus up more he will be the best player in the league.

Give the Mavs KP for 7 full games and I think series might have went other way.

Complaining for better treatment seems to be the standard for nba stars.

Such a fun game by Jimmy. Really rooting for the Heat as underdogs in this series.

It would be good to see a team that hasn’t had much success (Clippers) or recent success (Bucks) win the championship
