OTOH, it'll be almost 4 years between fights by the time he comes back. I wouldn't expect the same fighter to come back.

I agree, but just looked and its crazy to me that Rumble still is only 36 years old. The dude is 2 years younger than Stipe and only 2 years older than Francis.

He has crazy fight milage on him though. I still remember the first time I saw him on some super stacked Fight Night back in the day when he just destroyed a ginger from TUF. Crazy he was making 170 back in the day.

His chin is fine, his run through the LHW division was legendary. I'd put money on him still having his freakish power and he'd probably be my favorite to run through the current LHW division.

Ryan Bader, Glover, Phil Davis, Gus (less so but he beat him at his peak), took the shine off of Jimi Manuwa right quick. Kind of mentally weak after a few minutes but when he's 100%, he was the best LHW I've ever seen. Only DC was able to survive his attack.

Its still a ton of milage though and he has been off for 3 years (probably close to 4 by the time he fights again). Add in the major weight gains and I assume weight drops, that body has been through a lot even though he is still only 36.

Dont get me wrong, I think he is still going to be very dangerous fighter in the first minute or two of a fight. Also LHW is a pretty weak division especially with no more DC and Jones, so ya I can see him making a run. But I can see a guy like Reyes, Santos surviving the first minute or two then dragging Rumble into deep water. Again Im all for the return, Rumble is an extremely entertaining fighter, but I do think age and milage will start to show with him.

We have got to stop supporting Rumble, that sh*t is just inexcusable at this point.

Even if you want to take away all the domestic abuse cases away, all the scumbag actions he pulls outside the octagon.... what a sh*t fighter to cheer for in and outside the octagon. Gives up at the quickest instance when he can't put you away, there's no surprise he loses in the same fashion every single time.

Mental midget. F*ck that scum. Hope he pops from USADA and goes away forever. I truly don't think there's a fighter I despise more.

It does seem like he gets a weird pass from most MMA fans. Contrast him to Greg Hardy lol.

Love the fight, but hate this. I dont know how you can make that fight and not have it be a 5 round war. Also just another tease of Khabib and Tony fighting on the same card but not fighting each other haha. But if this does happen, UFC is going all out for 254 it looks like

Khabib vs Gaethje
Tony vs Dustin
Whitaker vs Cannonier
Zabit vs Yair
RDA vs Islam
Volkov vs Walt Harris

My guess is they would have Zabit vs Yair as the prelim main event, then slide Volkov vs Harris onto the main card. Either way, that would be one stacked card.

I think it will be 5 rounds right? It’ll be the co main.

Whitaker said in an interview a couple of weeks ago he’s looking forward to only fighting 3 rounds so I guess he knew this fight was being added to the card. I remember thinking at the time why the hell this the co main.

Anyway should be a great card. Winner of both fights to fight each other. We’ll probably get teased khabib and Tony again

Edit- I see you think zabit will be the co main. Fair eniugh

Only championship and or Main events are 5 round fights. Non title co-main are still just 3 rounds.

I think Khabib fights GSP or Conor after this fight. Unless Tony really roughs up Dustin and makes a hard push. But all the talk seems to be Khabib wants GSP in April or is open to another Conor fight.

That's an insane card of sincere talent. Holy ****. (Aside from the HWs, obviously. And Dustin Poirier.)

Hopefully they're just deceiving the MMA gods, and once Khabib and Tony make weight, clear medical, and enter the arena, they pair those two up and fight Dustin against JG. It was Tony vs Khabib the whole time!
