Re: 2019-20 NBA Season Discussion
Im curious about the Jokic supporters that have had him as an above average defender? What do u make of this series? This deep drop just will not work consistently in the playoffs. I get Denvers perimeter defense is bad now without Harris/Barton but Nikola has to be better. I wouldnt say hes a bad defender but i dont see how hes not below avg at this point. He has too many holes in pick and roll, cant defend a lob for his life, cant protect the rim, too slow to recover on hard hedges and most stunts etc

Re: 2019-20 NBA Season Discussion
It really makes me sad to see Oladipo be a shell of the athlete he once was. This dude was a monster on both ends two years ago especially in the playoffs and I was looking forward to him continuing to improve. In the POTY rankings I had him as the 10th best player in the league going into 2018-19 and I was expecting continued growth from there.
You gotta give him more time obviously but there’s a real possibility he never approaches that level again.

I was wondering too. Was it Kenny?
I think it was Jim Jackson

I've been saying it for years now so I want to know what they think too. His defense is just absolutely terrible so far this series.

I mean Jokic isn't a strong defender and Denver has awful perimeter defense. Kind of explains itself?

Heat-Bucks as well, I'm looking forward to that one. Heat remind me of the Celtics...multiple guys that can create their own shot, good passing all around, and a strong team defense with multiple excellent individual defenders.
I think Heat have a chance to take out the Bucks, and I've got the Celtics over the Raptors especially if Lowry is hampered by his injury.

Lopez gets clowned too if either of Bledsoe or Giannis miss games and he was getting all-defensive hype. Slow dudes get lit up when fast dudes can come at them with a run up.

1st quarter in game 5 and Jokic made all his shots including an end of the quarter shot - while his teammates are all getting wide open 3s or shots at the rim and are missing or even turning it over.
I am sure though if Denver loses to Utah it will be because Jokic isn't "that good". As if the Jazz are so weakly.

Jokic for me is arguably the best #1 (ie the best as a primary offensive option) offensive big we've ever seen in all likelihood. But his impact on that end is still soundly behind the best wings and guards.
Moreover, he's a center who can't protect the rim and isn't very impactful defensively and that's highly problematic. I struggle to see how you can build a real contender around him.

I dont think anyone here criticizes Jokic on offense. Hes the best offensive big in the league and its prolly not even close
its the other end of the floor

Getting him an all-star teammate would probably be a step in the right direction. I feel like people totally overlook this very obvious point. How can someone say "you can't do this with Jokic" when we've only seen Jokic in one situation - they've been to the 2nd round before and the Nuggets look like a second round team based on their roster and coach.
He's not Enes Kanter. You can build a championship team with a great offense and middling defense, which is what the Nuggets have. The Nuggets lack star power.

I've seen a lot of bad defense in the last few years that LBJ was in Cleveland, but I've never seen a playoff team be atrocious like that in defense like the nuggets right now .... I know they lack players but after 4 games, jazz had an offensive rating of 135.0, it's all-time bad!

I'd give KAT kinda close, but he's actual ass on D, whereas Jokic is just kinda meh with clear weaknesses. Maybe Giannis too.
I bought a boat.

I think his offense is a bit overrated. He’s still great though. Nuggets are trash though. They need that home court bad.

Jamal Murray is most likely an allstar next season

Re: 2019-20 NBA Season Discussion
The Nuggets are starting MPJ at wing because they've got no depth at this point. The defense stinks in many ways because of their wing depth.
I wasn't a fan of trading Hernangomez and Beasley just because of stuff like this, neither are good defenders but both are rotation level guys they could have used.

I took Murray into account - as it is now, it's just Jokic and Murray spamming. Throw in someone like Aaron Gordon, Jaylen Brown, Jimmy Butler, Klay Thompson - even other PG's like Lowry, SGA, CP3. There is a lot you can do to the Nuggets, they're nowhere near fully built.
Michael Porter is arguably their 3rd best player, the team is too incomplete to say things like one can't built around a Joker, that's my general point.
