I've been having fun with it. Feels like The Golf Club with a PGA/2K skin on it. I've just been doing the PGA Tour mode. I remember The Golf Club being pretty easy for me but I've had a pretty tough time shooting good scores so far. Maybe I'm just not that good, I'm playing on Pro difficulty and like the challenge. It does feel rewarding to hit a really good shot.

Just finished with a few hours of MSFT Flight Simulator, super cool game but a few things were obvious.

1. I am not a pilot, holy crap I crashed 100 times before learning the basic controls (even with tutorials). It's really hard and I had all assists on.
2. Could barely run on my 1070 and i5-7600k. On low I was getting 15-25 FPS.
3. It's pretty awesome flying anywhere and everywhere. I flew by my house, my parents old house, my work, all the cool places in Madison. It was missing a few houses, probably just places where satellites haven't focused much time on.

After 2 hours though, I'm done. Happy I could play for a bit on Xbox Game Pass.

Apparently no one can run it well. Hate throwing around this terminology, but it's basically the new "can it run Crysis" conversation in PC gaming.

Still going strong with Path of Exile. I'm just starting Act 7 and around level 57. I finally hit a wall where I met an enemy in a Vaal instance that I just couldn't do anything to. I think I'm lagging in my gear, still using some lower item level stuff because they had good resistance percentages. MikeIsGood or anyone else have any good plain-English crafting guides? I think I need to start investing in that a touch more at this leg of the game.

Yep happy to help! Generally speaking you shouldn't need to - and don't want to - do much crafting while you level, as you will come to prefer saving your crafting currency for endgame. That said, do whatever feels fun to you (because that's what matters), especially while you learn. And there are some leveling crafts via vendor recipes that I can help with.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Vaal side areas can indeed be extremely difficult while you're levelling. It's really the first exposure you have to maps, in essence - meaning that it's an area with randomly rolled mods.

For starters though, can you share your character so I can take a look? If you haven't done it before, follow these steps:
1. Login to pathofexile.com.
2. Click Privacy Settings.
3. Uncheck all of the boxes (it isn't about your data at all - it's all about your characters).
4. Click the Characters tab along the top of your profile. Send me the URL.

This will let me see your character, stats, and (most importantly here) gear.

The most common leveling craft to note for a spell caster is the vendor recipe for a spell% wand. Vendor recipes means trading certain items to a vendor to get them to give you back something specific. The spell% wand craft is:

1x Dagger/Sceptre/Staff/Wand (rarity doesn't matter)
1x Blue, Rare or Unique Chain Belt
1x Blacksmith's Whetstone

This will re-roll the wand to be magic, and include 1 prefix modifier for spell%. The chain belt's rarity determines the level of the mod: magic the "Apprentice's" mod (10-19%), rare the "Adept's" mod (20-29%), unique the "Scholar's" mod (45-59%). This is a great use of the Bated Breath chain belt, if you come across one of those (common leveling unique). It also may be worth wearing the belt, mind you :)

It's only 1 mod, so you may be tempted to shirk it, but the spell% mod matters way more than what you likely get on wands that drop. Definitely can hold you over until you do find a better, more worthwhile rare.

Just finished up with Spiderman and the DLCs, they were so good. After playing the Avengers beta, I wish they would've just made Avengers exactly like Spiderman. I'm still pumped about the storyline and playable characters for Avengers but the mechanics aren't even close to as fun as Spiderman. It makes me want to go back and play the Batman games again because I think I might enjoy more this time around.

Finished FO:4 yesterday. Did a run where I sided with the Railroad/Synths and blew up the Institute. Overall a good time. Now gonna play Skyrim for what's maybe the 4th or 5th time.

Been messing around with the NBA 2K21 demo...man the new shooting mechanic is super difficult for me to adjust to. I doubt I'll use it in the retail version but there's honestly a lot of upside to it if you can get consistent results with it.

Randomly started playing BG2 about a week ago on the side, in anticipation of BG3 EA next month, and suddenly the past few days have been totally addicted. Still holds up in 2020. It's just such an incredible atmosphere - the writing, the lore, the characters. And honestly, the CRPG combat holds up admirably too.

I forgot I bought GreedFall during the PS summer sale, anyone know if it's any good? Was going to start that or Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

I know people really love Pathfinder: Kingmaker after all of the post-launch attention it got to fix bugs, but something kept me from really getting into it. I played maybe 20 hours or so then walked away. But, by all indications, I am more of an exception than the rule for those that are in to these types of games.

Wasteland 3 comes out tomorrow and the review embargo was lifted. I forgot about this one. It is getting pretty resoundingly positive reviews. Still waiting to hear from the big-hitters (Polygon, IGN). Will watch the ACG review over lunch.

It's on Gamepass BTW.

Yeah, I might just wait and play Wasteland. I like they changed attack order back into your entire squad then enemy goes, not the alternating with your individual enemy over and over. That was annoying.

From Eurogamer on Wasteland 3:
Colorado Springs has a refugee problem. The Marshals want to put a stop to the flood of people who are desperate enough to make the dangerous journey to the city in the hope of finding food and shelter. You see these people huddled around fires on the freezing streets. They are a faction. You have a reputation gauge with them. They are begging for help.

You see where this is all going, how it all feels in this, the year of our lord 2020. I hate it all, but what's brilliant about Wasteland 3 is it lets me hate its monsters, and its monsters hate me back. I am venting, unleashing my rage on the monsters of Wasteland 3. I want to burn it all to the ground, and Wasteland 3 understands this, and reacts. Every turn of events comes with a handful of choices. You can steer Colorado, almost micromanage it, turning the oil tanker, pressing the self-destruct button. As one of the game's standout songs proclaims: are you washed in the blood of the lamb? By the time this game is over, I certainly will be.

God damnit. I don't want to stop playing BG2, but I really, really want to start playing this.

Welp I've spent the last hour watching Flight Simulator videos, including one that had the pilot going into the hurricane and another go over my place, and I'm shocked this thing exists. What a miracle of a game.

Just got a $1 Gamepass for PC month for like the...fifth? Sixth time? It's like MS doesn't even care, lol. I figured I've played BG2 enough times (at least a half-dozen all the way through) so, even though I was having a great time, I'll check out the new Wasteland 3.

Played Wasteland 3 about 2 hours tonight. Good stuff so far. Nothing revolutionary, but fun characters and atmosphere. Worth $1 entry fee :P I don't think I'm even midway through the intro, so way too early for a solid feel.

I'm having the best freaking time replaying Skyrim again with all the mods and some cheats. I gave myself some Daedric gear from the outset so my ADD ass wouldn't spend 40 hours doing nothing but hunting crafting materials and working on my Crafting stat. In my previous playthroughs combined I bet I spent 200 hours on just that bullsh*t.

So yea, without that I've just been dicking around and taking quests I'd never done before, finding all the dragon lairs I can, learning all the shouts I probably won't ever use. I'd never played the Dragonborn add-on before and that was WILD.

There's zero challenge because of the gear and I'll probably drop down to some crappy equipment soon, but for right now I'm having a blast.

What combination of mods do you use?

I'm hopefully getting an Oculus soon, definitely going to be replaying Skyrim in VR. 8-)
