Do they get to say they miss their families and the support system? Now I know these guys are not in the armed forces but they're living in a bubble, protected from everything else that you and I face every day. They're pampered by chefs preparing 5 Star quality meals every day.
All PG had to do was acknowledge he did poorly and he's glad to have a breakout game.

Many do very badly. The suicide rate of our combat veterans is a blight on our country. So yeah its a really bad comparison all around (I get your point though.)

I think it's time we stop tasting those tears. They come mainly from hate towards the Clippers because they're no longer the losers they could bully into submission. At this point, the tears are poison. Take one in, and you'll absorb the same hate those haters felt, and it could permeate into the fan base.

If the Clippers are to be the new Spurs, it's time we break the cycle.

And if I were a teammate, I would not want to hear the the second best player on the team saying that he mentally checked out over something like the bubble...

Exactly. Mayb its fine that he said that, but then go ahead and admit it on tv makes it even worse. This is something you admit after you win the championship or next year. Not now. Keep this guy away from the microphone and the media. This guy freaking talks too much. Before the game he said he's not scoring because he's not making jumpshots and their defense wasn't that good. He disparaged the other team like a cornball

He wasn't scoring because he wasn't aggressive, not because of the team. PG is a weirdo. I honestly don't like him but I hope he continually to play well so the clippers and kawhi can win a ring.

I think it depends. He was talking about different things after the other games, this sounds like he has hopefully come around full circle emotionally and mentally- at which point he can talk about it and not worry about the response. The stuff before sounded like he was still wrapped up in it, but trying to come up with things to say because, well you have to say something. So stuff like what his Harden reference comes out.

Generally speaking, it takes strength to come clean about stuff like this and can be a significant sign of progress. But yeah I do see how it can be risky at the same time.

I agree. My hottake of the time was that he was setting himself up for the trolls to fire at him but I'm glad he sought out help and took responsibility. I'm also glad the reception of him dealing with the depression has been overwhelming positive. I thought he'd get more trolls. Lebron said the same thing and everyone was just telling him to shut up and play. Everyones dealing with it kinda thing

Yeah, at the time I didn't realize it was that deep with PG. I'm glad he was able to overcome his issues, at least for game 5. On a semi-related note, there have been quite a few celebrities in Asia that have committed suicide recently, and it's been said that cyber-bullying was a big part of it. With all the self isolating going on, all the negativity is just amplified. It's really messed up...
