Man, he went off. That spinning lay-up in traffic was insane. Utah was all over him the last few minutes. Very impressive.

Wow that means Giannis could win MVP and DPOY in the same season. That would rank him as one of the best all-time seasons.

Honestly I don\t get that sense to me personally, but from a pure textbook point of view it will.

gobert probably lost some votes 'cause he got dunked on by COVID

a guy who averaged 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game just won DPOY. easily! that's gotta be historic

edit: michael cooper somehow won DPOY in '87 despite averaging only 1.0 steals, 0.5 blocks and 2.4 DRB

Ahh man, looks like the Clippers are taking the Mavs seriously now. Luka looks really irritated now about not getting calls.

Luka might still have a good game but I dont think the game will be close this time.

He's just one of those players that if he gets hot, it doesn't really matter what defense you're playing against him. You just do what you can to make it tough for him, and hope for the best.

Props for him trying to play through it, but he doesn't look like he's going to make it on that ankle too much longer. I just hope he doesn't overcompensate and end up hurting himself more.

Coaches dropping everywhere, this was why I was wondering if AK was waiting to fire Boylen, until there were more candidates to choose from.

He is obviously in the know and there was no major reason to fire Boylen earlier until the season was really over. The knicks took forever too but their target was a guy who was wide open on the market and they made that move. To think AK didn't know or want to see who was on the hot seat would have made him look like a fool. He would have just opened the menu and ordered the first thing on it out of impatience. I don't want an impatient guy in AK's position.

how much money is tied up in finishing the playoffs vs hitting the 70 regular season game number (mission accomplished there)

and the players have already locked in their full salaries for the season, correct? not much financial incentive to continue on for them

I think I heard the Lakers/Clippers both voted to "cancel" the season. Fellas, I think the 2019-2020 season is over.

Estimated $11k per game, and that's assuming you win the entire thing. No playoffs is basically of no consequence financially to players.

Adam Silver has also said the Bubble is so expensive to maintain, it's not much better than not having any games at all. Financially speaking, it would be easy for both sides to agree to cancel the rest of the season.

the 2018 NBA champs will get $3,320,527 to divide among themselves. That’s how we get our rough estimate for the average payout to a 15-man roster: $221,268.

This payout would be about $11,000 per game if the champions played 20 postseason games. If you’re the Warriors and win quicker than that, you come out ahead.

Good. Lebron will never be as good as MJ. Another failed season.

LAC & LAL voted to cancel, but every other team voted to continue.

@ShamsCharania
Sources: Every team besides Lakers and Clippers voted to continue playing. LeBron James said in meeting he want owners to be more involved/take action.

I'm not sure how the NBA will resolve this.

Very easily by a commitment to advocate on behalf of the players and a large check to BLM.

"LeBron James changed his position from Wednesday evening during a league-wide meeting of players in which he advocated for the cancelation of the season.

James, among others, relayed that is was in their collective best interest to finish the season."

First, he reportedly stormed out of the meeting when other teams didn't go along with his wishes to cancel the season. Now, he changes his mind sighting "collective best interests"- that means they thought about the money, right?
