2021 Draft Prospects Thread: Send in what you find

Post#1 » by Mylie10 » Sun Aug 23, 2020 2:05 am

I thought with all the talk of the Minny pic next year, that we should start a thread in regards to all of the up and comers next season.

So whatever info you can come up with, whether domestic or international.

Here’s an early mock for next

my way too early targets for a hopeful 4th pick (not going to include cade or green since they are likely locks for top 3):

Jalen Johnson
Jonathon Kuminga (probably a lock top 3 like cade/green)
Scottie Barnes
Ibou Badji (if we don't get Wiseman this year he may be my 1)
Scottie Lewis
Oscar Tshiebwe

The idea of building the next core around Johnson/Wiseman or Edwards/Badji while still having Steph and Co... exciting and sort of possible.

I'm guessing it will be a mid lotto pick at best.

Unless Chase is packed next year, through at least 3 rounds of the playoffs, and Warriors national TV games get boffo ratings, NBA won't fix another top 5 pick for GSW.

Mobley brothers versus Wiseman and Dandridge.

High school matchup

Player I want the most is Scottie Barnes, reminds me a lot of Iguodala.

Really good passer
Court vision
Athletic
Good defense
Physical
Upside

6’8 210 lbs
Has a 7’2 wingspan
9’0 standing reach

I think one of the only problems is he’s not a GREAT shooter, or a great shot creator. He also wears his emotion on his sleeve like Draymond, personally I love the attitude but I could see how people might think it’s a negative.

I feel like his floor is last couple years Iguodala which is still a pretty good 6th man.

I don’t think the Wolves pick will be all that high either. Probably 10-15

I bet Lacob will want to get a 2nd round pick to draft Kai Sotto. 7 foot kid from the Philippines, the whole country will be rooting for whatever team he lands on.

Wiseman offensive versatility is showing and I believe after all the work he has put since December he will be a monster if he develops a more Shaq like mentality like Mobley, like Evan is way smaller than him yet he played bigger than Wiseman.

I think the word is soft? Like many scouts and Analysts are saying this in all of his reports, saying they know he can be dominant given his build and skill set but he settles and drifts too much.

Another issue with this is his defensive flaws are as clear as day. He doesn't really have discipline, gets pushed around by smaller players and out of position alot.

A lotttt of bad habits that will need time to fix and I think it's going to be a long and hard learning process like we did with Mcgee but I believe with Draymond and Kerr in his ear and how smart he is I hope he corrects them sooner than later

But like I've mentioned in some posts, I believe he is the best player in terms of potential and least amount of flaws in this(2020) draft

hard to pack an arena that may not allow any fans.

And the lottery isn't "fixed".

Yeah from those clips, Wiseman doesn't seem to be going all out to rim protect. Good dribbling the ball.

Seems like he wants to be more of a 3 not a 5.

i do not know anything about cade cunningham except that he is a 6'6 combo guard with a 7' wing span and that makes me want him on the warriors.

You think the Wolves might be a middle of the road nba team? They’re gonna be horrible no matter who they draft but especially if they take Ball. Why do people think Minny is going to be decent? They will most likely be a bottom 3 team in the west at best.

They have the #1 and the #17 pick. They also have Culvert, who may not pan out but is still a high lotto pick.

They may not get into the playoffs but I can see them coming close enough that they're in the mid to lower lottery range.

Plus NBA isn't going to give the Warriors 2 top-5 picks in consecutive drafts. They just won't. Other NBA teams will howl.

So you think the Wolves will be ok because they have the 17th pick & Culver and you also think the draft is fixed? Ok.

I'm saying they will play better enough to get low number of ping pong balls and the Warriors won't move up certainly.

May move down.

I think Min is bottom 4-5 in the league and without a lucky bounce for them, the Warriors will pick 5-7.

That sounds about right to me.

In that range i'd target:

Jalen Johnson
Scottie Barnes
Ibou Badji
Scottie Lewis
Oscar Tshiebwe

Return to Golden State Warriors
