I think we can basically keep one of Brunson or Burke. Because if you add in Seth, Dallas becomes a very small team. And if you arent making shots, that will be a problem on the defensive end.

My vote is to sign and keep Burke, and use Brunson as a trade chip, packaged with maybe Delon Wright for a usable wing player.

Exactly.
Burke makes Brunson expendable for a trade and Wright should be traded no matter what.
Hopefully Brunson/Wright/#31 could yield us a quality wing.

I'd like to see Malédon at pick #18; with a superstar like Doncic you need players that will do all what they gonna be asked. Players understanding how Doncic is great, and with no matter to see the superstar with the ball 80% of the time.
Frank Ntilikina is a play-off player, but he goes to the Hornets.

Paris 2024 (Starters):
Ntilikina - Malédon - Hayes
Coulibaly - De Colo
TLC - Rupert or Risacher
Wembanyama- Yabusele
Embiid- Poirier - Lessort [without Embiid: Fall]

I do not have a real opinion. He get more responsabilize last year with Cholet after Hayes left. But year after year he improved his numbers and physically is interesting. Seen he is already 22, it could be a good idea at 2 round, and deciding next year what to do with him after he played a year in a more competitive team.
BTW; if Mokoka played few games last year, I don't see why NDoye could not do the same thing.

Regarding Maledon:

Of all the teams that might pick Maledon, you almost have to include Dallas because of how they have historically scouted in Europe. To put it another way, If they don't pick Maledon, it won't be because they didn't thoroughly scout him.

He has some interesting talent in speed and energy, but I'm not so sure how teams view his PG skills.

1) If Mavs drafted DSJ with 9th pick, they should draft Malédon if is available at pick #18
2) don't pay too much attention to his stats last years, he was injuried, Mitrovic launched Strazel during that time (so 4 PGs in the roster), and when lockdown happened, he was getting the keys of ASVEL game (but we saw this only for 2 or 3 games) with Strazel
3) according to TP9, he really fits more NBA than Euroleague. It will be easier for him to score in NBA.
4) he will like to play with Doncic and he will be a real team player

So if Mavs want a PG, he is the solution.

For those who have seen Maldeon play, from a scale of 1 to 10, is he more Roddy Beaubois or Tony Parker? 10 being Tony.

My question is how much does he cost to resign? And what are you willing to spend. Are you OK with Burke at $4mill? $5? More?

I know he’s been good in the bubble, but so was Cameron Payne. And a ton of players are shooting well above their marks. I fear the combo of no crowds, no traveling, the current setup has allowed that. I would love to bring Burke back but not at much more than the ~$2-mill/yr. He needs to prove it for a longer stretch to me. I worry a lot of players will get contracts based on the Bubble and won’t have that impact when things go back to normal.

He has his own personnality, you will never find a new TP9. But to answer your question, on Beaubois-Parker scale (What a concept!): 9!

Just backing up a-french-fan - I think Maledon is being hugely slept on in all the mocks. He's a steal at #18 - irl *in this draft* he's a second half of the lottery prospect as worst. I think he's a lock to be a successful NBA player (barring random injury ofc) if on a team that has any clue about how work with 19 year old rookies.

I'm just not feeling it with Maledon. I don't think he has any one particular elite skill, and I think it's hard to get a good feel for him on video because of the competition. I wish there was another season of him in EuroLeague. Right now I just think he needs some seasoning before he starts a lot of ballhandling with an NBA team. He'll need time in the G League, I'm sure.

I think there are other players available who might be more ready to step in. Just my two cents on him.

It's going to be an odd draft given the Mavs needs. If they wanted to trade on draft night - by moving up or down - it seems like the most likely player for them to move might be someone like Brunson who is still on a rookie contract - but there are also sorts of possibilities. Staying at #18 seems less likely now only because they need at least one veteran player. Really, I have no good idea how this draft shakes out.

I like several guys screened in our selections even on 2nd
I'd take Tyler bey, I feel like I could help as soon as now
I like Desmond Bane, Rick could transform little Lillard
Cassius Stanley / Ramsey

Yeah, I agree, I think there are better fits for this team.

I doubt very seriously the Mavs are looking at taking a PG considering we have Luka, Brunson, Wright, and Curry and they are probably going to find a way to re-sign Burke. They will most likely take a wing because there should be several options when they pick. Green, Hampton, and both Beys should be there when we pick and guys like Nesmith, Williams, and Achiuwa can slip or we might try to move up for one.

I'll be unpleasantly surprised if they take a PG with their pick.

If Mavs can't move their pick for a vet it wouldn't surprise me if they trade back to pick up another 2nd rounder.
If they like Tyler Bey and Ramsey they can trade back to the late 1st round and possibly get both of them along with a player in the 2nd round.

For instance, trade #18 to Knicks for #27 and #38.

I like 76ers # 18 + # 31 for # 21(T.Bey) / # 34(Stanley)/ # 36 (Tillman)I would .... but I don't see Mavs add 3 newbies
Con los Celtics
Brunson / # 18 / # 31 para # 14(S.bey/P.Williams) / # 30(t.Bey)

They might trade down into the late 1st - for someone like Tillman or Tyrell Terry. The reason to do that is that maybe you can pick up some rotation help from the team your trading with (their cost in moving). It's the infamous "player-to-be-named-later" deal.

BTW, Tyrell Terry is one of the more interesting players in the draft. This guy is a bona fide 3-point specialist with very good PG skills. The reason he is not expected to go in the mid 1st round is that he's too slight. He's listed at 6' 1" or 6' 2" (although one draft site said he's recently grown to 6'3"). But he needs muscle.

On the other side, he's very smart. Nearly every draft report comments on this. He scores high on every test in that regard.

https://therookiewire.usatoday.com/2020/06/16/tyrell-terry-broke-a-record-for-a-basketball-iq-test-given-by-teams/

He shoots about five 3-pointers a game and makes 40%. He is quick and has good skills. He even admits that he's going to need time in the weight room during this pandemic season to make any immediate impact. He could be a rotation player on this team with his shot, but he's certainly not the defensive specialist you want. Still, if you're a team willing to give Kemba Walker the max and already made a good living off JJ Barea, you would certainly be willing to see what this guy can do.

BTW, his name doesn't always show up in mock drafts because he was a pretty late entry.

Terry looks like he would be an excellent fit in our system but I wonder if the Mavs would pick him considering he brings similar skills as Curry, Brunson and Trey. Seems like a Jeremy Lin clone. Long-term he'd be an excellent pick though to become that Lou Williams/JET/JR Smith/Seth Curry 6th man role.

I think T. Bey could be there at #31 but if the Mavs really like him they should trade back. I think #18 is too high for him. There are several PGs projected in the mid- 1st round and there are several wings including T. Bey that should slip to the end of the first round. We desperately need to improve our wings so it might be beneficial if the Mavs trade down for a wing and add a pick.

Possibilities:
#18 for Sixers #21/#58
#18/#31 for Sixers #21/#34/#36
#18 for Knicks #27/#38
#18 for OKC #25/#53
#18 for Boston #26/#47
