Sucks for KP. Take your time with the recovery though. DAL pick looking good, with the West a blood bath next season. Have no idea why so many are willing to throw away that pick, next years draft will have all star talent late in the lotto.

I think so...

We got rid of salary and got two mid-late first round picks. They got Timmy and Trey who appear to be solid contributors. Timmy looks good next to Luka.

The whole situation was just a mess. The issue is, could we have done better trading with another team and it appears that was the case.

Trey Burke was signed by Philly then waived, mavs scooped him up when he was a FA since February anyone could have. Him being on the Mavs now isn't even part of the equation.

Timmy looks great because of coaching and Timmy is talented as a shot maker. The Knicks since Woodson have had no type of system in place rendering guys to just do whatever the f*ck they want. I would say Timmy took a lot of shots on our team but I never saw him as a selfish player.

But yeah him getting hurt obviously evens out that trade for us quite a bit. Him being healthy we were losing that trade big time.

I don’t think too many teams would want to trade value for him at this point.

But...what did it do for the Knicks? We got a lot of cap space. We can use it to sign free agents or at least broker trades. The bottom line is that we won't know how well the Knicks did until the cap space is actually used (but right now, I'd rather have what we have than have KP back on his salary and with his health).

What kind of **** are they on in the general when they talk about winning said trade even without KP?

The KP trade made us sad, but we need to feel better because:
1. KP was never a leader or the dominant player we hoped for. He's a good scorer and second or third option.
2. KP was never strong enough to finish the season as tough as he started it, and good knees or bad, he still isn't
3. His knees are both injured and he isn't heavy on them. His body mechanics are not really suited for the kind of intense stress he subjects them to. It's pretty clear he will have to pace himself and avoid over-exertion for the rest of his career.

We didn't draft who we thought we drafted, so in that sense, too bad for us. But the trade wasn't as bad as we feared. Too bad for Dallas, too.
