Wait, I thought you don't want guys to get playing time as rookies? How can someone be quick to perform without playing time?

It's not unusual for you to crop a post and take it out of context, is it? I would live to chat more about these players and what I like or don't about them, but I shouldn't when you post like this.

I will show the difference in handling these rookies from how Culver was.

Culver 35 starts
Johnson was maybe 10
Thybulle like 15 - Philly got a little excited about him and then also reminded he's a rookie.
Bol Bol. 0 starts, minor mins and has looked good
Tacko Falls. 0 starts, even less garbage mins
Herro I know has 8 starts and higher minss

Look at that. Herro has been the absolute best of this bunch as a rookie. The one showing the most ready to play from the start. The BBIQ was ready. The shot was ready. Only 8 starts . His minutes have been high though, but again, showing the most ready for it. Some do. Which is how I felt about what JMac was showing.

That was the point of the post by the way. All those players showing more flash already with less starts from way further down in draft. They can do that without starting and we didn't need to jump up to 6th to get one of Garland or Culver. Garland got loads of starts too with a little less failing and a little less flashing.

Expected though. There really isn't going to be much of an offseason of any length to spread out healing time.

It sounds weird but, I want MIA to play in Finals. I still dislike Butler as a person, but I do like MIA and his fit there. I am interested what happen if MIL, HOU fail. Because it might trigger the big sale in NBA in offseason.

That might be interesting. I think if Miami can stay consistent they have a deep roster to get a long ways.

Yesterday, CP3 looked better than three last MVPs (Westbrook, Harden, Giannis).

Teams like okc (and indiana) always get lucky when their stars ask for trades, always! It makes me sick.

No doubt. He's already the Point God in many circles, but a series win with the team he's got could rewrite some of the narrative as far as playoff disappointments.

Pat Riley was crazy not to make the J-Rich trade for Butler when it was on the table earlier, thank God for him he got a second opportunity to get Butler in Philly. You don't let great role players hold you up when you are getting a star.

That said, I didn't expect Butlers impact to be this big. The Heat got a chance to beat the Bucks who were thought as championship-caliber in the last couple of seasons. The moves Miami has made plus getting Butler has transformed them into a step under containership. Big turn around.

Both the Sixers and Timberwolves have fallen off considerably after losing Butler too.

No rewrites if you watched the final few minutes.

Think if you had CP3 instead of Gallinari shooting the FT at the end might have changed things.

All I am going to say is that, even if we know for 100% sure that he would not resign, Minnesota should inquire if Giannis decides he wants out of Milwaukee, haha. Seriously though, I am curious what will happen to that team if they lose in four or five.

Well. It was not only Butler, but he was a missing piece. Heat as an organisation made a bunch of solid moves, to build the current roster.

* - added two elite shooters in Robinson and Herro at 6mil per year. Which is crazy to think about. However, it is critical to surround Butler with elite shooters, because he is a bad 3pt shooter, but an excellent complementary scorer. Something that Thibs never understood
* - found a combo-guard Nunn for 1.5mil per year. Another bargain
* - traded for two experienced veterans, two 3&D players in Iggy, Crowder
* - developed Bam, who IMO should have won MIP award this year
* - they have two stretch fives in Olunik and Leonard
* - they kept financial flexibility and have cap space this offseason

Riley failed with JJ, Waiters, Winslow and Tyler Johnson contracts. But after that, he did an excellent job maximizing his team chances by making maybe small steps diligently, waiting for his chance to play big in NBA trade market.

I'd expect a domino effect. Because Giannis is a very specific player, he NEEDS a specific roster around him to succeed. If he decides to leave MIL I can see a new team making major moves to re-shape roster. One alternative scenario is to play him at С exclusively with two big combo forwards at wings and two comboguards/elite shooters as backcourt. Sounds like TOR with Giannis at С and Siakam/Anunoby, right?
