Agreed. I want Houston to win as a Harden fan but I just don’t understand why Harden seemingly avoids the ball in situations like these.

But yes, a sample size of 6 games doesn't negate the fact that Jokic has clearly been their best player throughout the season, and even if you just focus on this series, Jokic still has a great argument for being their best player (26/7/6 on 63% TS), and at best, the difference is minimal.

Murray is averaging 34/7/6 on .73ts and has closed out all of denver's wins

How on earth does Jokic have an argument over him for the series?

Jokic is still the engine behind their offense. He’s also matched up with a 3x DPOY, and Murray isn’t.

It’s kind of like how Curry has an argument (a really strong one actually) over Durant in the 2017 Finals even though Durant may have had a better stat line.

Also, even though this hasn’t been a defensive series, Jokic gives a lot more value on that end than Murray.

Jokic has been poop on defense and murray isnt even that bad defensively this year right?

Can someone explain me Budenholzer's rotations like I'm five?

OKC are my favorites this season, you don't know how many times I lost my nerves in this series! The series is amazing though and I can't wait to see game 7.

With no crowds, feel like there are no momentum games in the bubble. If a team wins, it's because something tangible on the on court play changed, not a flukey crowd win.

Inexcusable really.

You have to want it.

I picked Houston in 7 and I really want them to win to see them vs the Lakers.

I have no faith in them at all if it's a close game down the stretch though.

Jokic with outstanding game 7, does anybody still have Murray as better than him?
Gobert was phenomenal as well, one of his better performances recently.

We just had an amazing game 7 and the leaders of both teams were bigs - I love it! :D

I feel so bad for Utah. They played so well in the second half and Gobert looked like the MVP. Rudy was sensational in that game, he did everything he could and should get no blame for that loss.

Nuggets vs Jazz was an incredible series. One of the best series I can remember between two teams who have no chance of contending for the title. Jokic is an incredible offensive player for a big.

The narrative against Jokic was kind of gross this series, and kinda shows how much power narratives have in general.

Thank goodness the Nuggets won yesterday, and I guess thank goodness Murray didn't have a better game than Jokic (for some reason this is making Jokic looking bad even though he is playing well also?).

If Jokic had the same exact game but his team lost, there would be a million threads asking can you win with Jokic as your guy? Is Jokic overrated. Is Murray better than Jokic. Etc etc.

Well, next year everyone will forget this series and we'll be back to square 1 again with Jokic. :P

There are still questions of a deep playoff run with Nikola TBH

Hes proven hes an extremely resilient and alltime level offensive player in the playoffs

but his defense is still an issue

his teams have gone 7 games in every series of his career. His bad rim protection and pick and roll defense will always be hunted in the playoffs unless he improves alot

and FTR Murray and Mitchell were still the 2 best players of the series

Jazz put up a valiant effort for being undermanned. I expected them to fold way quicker with all that was going on but they fought all the way to the last shot.

I think the biggest positive here is how Mitchell played in this series. No reason for him to not come out next season with the same level of confidence that he can dominate games because the ability is there... So i expect a better Donovan Mitchell next year. Maybe Conley manages to rediscover himself a bit as well. Heal up on all the stress and injuries he sustained this year.

What do u mean by overall? Are you implying Jokic made a positive impact on defense?

Murray won them 3 games in the 4th quarter/ot averaging like 15PPG on absurd percentages in them

Jokic completely dominated game 7 and specially the 2nd half and game winner

For the series

Murray
31.6/5.6/6.3 on .682ts
+1.7 on court, +24.9 on/off

Jokic
26.3/8.1/5.4 on .624ts
-6.2 on court, -9.1 on/off

Jokic went up against the best defender in the world and was entire focus of Jazz defense. Murray had a few very hot games when he faced far less defensive pressure. Jokic was always consistent on offense, when Murray disappear in half of games played.

I don't imply that Jokic was positive defensively, he struggled all series long. Murray wasn't better than him on that end though, he's bad perimeter defender who has no size to help out inside.
