This game is going to be incredibly telling in terms of the mindset of this team. Either they fall apart like they did against Toronto last year, or they respond in a major way like they did against Boston.

My chicken little statement of the day:

I think we get blown out tonight. :blank:

I'll be happy to be completely wrong, but I just don't see it with this team right now.

Great article. What most people here have suspected is true, the NBA essentially doesn't fine for flops anymore. All opposing teams know this and they're number one strategy for slowing down Giannis is to flop and get the charge call. This results in Giannis settling for more jumpers or fouling him out of the game.

And non-Bucks fans think Giannis gets a good whistle...

Even if they were still fining players, I don't think there's any evidence that it deterred people from flopping at all. I don't really have any hope that things will ever change; this will likely be an issue for Giannis his entire career until he isn't athletic enough to play the way he currently does anymore/isn't as reliant on getting to the rim.

The only way I can really see this strategy going away is if the league starts suspending players for flopping. Even technical fouls won't do unless they make potential flops reviewable without a coach's challenge.

This disappears the minute he signs elsewhere.

I don't buy that personally but to each their own.

Ya....I'm worried the Heat are going to bomb away from 3 and this is like a 25 point game at half

To me its all about Bud. We need Giannis and Mids at 40 mins. That's on him. There needs to be some sort of playoff rotation, no DDV. Thats on Bud. A plan of offense, thats on Bud.

So what is a conspiracy? Like planning a thing with people? Like, say, a surprise birthday party?

This one is super easy to execute (so not groupable with the absurd international ones), your eyes already see it, the financial upside is tremendous, and *the NBA was already busted for it*.

How's that a conspiracy though? The Lakers or Celtics voicing their concerns on their star player getting unfair treatment would be more likely to cause the league to act than if the Bucks do so. The league cares a lot about its big market teams, this is not something new.

That being said, if the BUcks took up this issue with the league, I think they would listen and do SOMETHING

There's probably better posts to make my point with, and that is this. I've been thinking about what more Giannis could've done and there's really only two. First make more free throws, and second don't let frustration set in and start forcing things. I feel like Giannis played well the whole game until the frustration finally won in the 4th quarter and then the momentum was seized by miami. Nothing good will come if he tries to force it. It's on Bud to open things up
