Re: Trade Talk (Part Four)
Just Trade Towns and Dlo to AZ already. They can field the dream3 together.
Rosas can finally go full on Rockets small ball copy cat starting to rebuild it all this draft. Plus, then the team is ready to be moved when the team goes 5-77 in 2020-21 and the state's fanbase burns down the target center.
Positive idea for the day #1

Unlikely, but possible. I think it's more likely that Ball would be available at pick four.
Perfect then trade him to NYC for Knox and pick 8
So u end up with Lauri, Knox pick 8.. take bpa and call it a day
Putting Knox in the deal makes me less likely to take it. 8 Barrett and a pick swap option next year might get it done.

If there is any trade to be had with Giannis, it is a deal where we all know that Giannis will leave after one season, much like the Kawhi Leonard situation.
Obviously Minnesota would be stupid not to do it, but let's not pretend this is a "he would love to be here" situation, haha.
Minneapolis is a step up from Milwaukee and IMO preferable to LA or NYC.

If team gets moved to Vegas maybe Giannis stays.

What is the name of the new Vegas team going to be?
The Vegas House?
"The House always wins"
"don't bet against the House!"
"don't forget to tip the refs!"

Re: Trade Talk (Part Four)
Not super likely, but what if Siakam became available? Is he (and his contract) worth the #1 pick? Is he a good fit w/ KAT and DLO?

I would do it, but the problem is that he is an RFA. There is no functional way to force him to sign here, and any trace involving Draft picks would look insanely fishy.

if Siakam was available for the #1 pick and as long as he's signed for a few years I would trade #1 for him so fast it would make your head spin.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Four)
If I'm not mistaken, Siakam signed a 4/130 extension last summer?

I'm not sure, but you might be mistaken. They referred to that as upcoming contract extension. It was confusing. They might have just been saying what he's eligible for. Anybody know for sure?

He’s sucked against the celtics. IMO toronto will regret giving him that contract in a few years.

I just checked his stats to see if he was as good as I thought he was. He was even better. Not a thing he didn't do well.

Thanks. So let's make this trade yesterday. We send out JJ and who to make the salaries match?

Re: Trade Talk (Part Four)
What about Porzingis?
Mavs maybe second guessing his injury history as ideal duo next to the 21yo Doncic. They could also covet the ability while Doncic is on his rookie contract to maximize cap space for one — maybe two — max free agents with Doncic recruiting.
Wolves could have themselves twin towers with an abundance of shooting. Porzingis can try and cover for Towns D at the rim.
Hawks Give: #6 Overall + Dedmon + 2021 1st (limited protections) + OKC 1st Owed
Hawks Get: #1 Overall + Powell + Kleber
Hawks Reasoning: get Edwards.
Mavs Give: Porzingis + Powell + Kleber
Mavs Get: #6 Overall + Culver + Johnson + Dedmon + 2021 Hawks 1st + OKC 1st Owed (via Hawks)
Mavs Reasoning: Doncic would have a young squad built around him, with cap space for max contract, maybe 2. Mavs gain some assets too. I wouldn’t be too worried about Mavs unprotected 2021 1st owed Knicks, Doncic has carried the team without Porzingis.
Wolves Give: #1 Overall + Johnson + Culver
Wolves Get: Porzingis
Wolves Reasoning: gamble Porzingis and Towns can be dynamic front court duo.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Four)
So a couple additional thoughts as I've stayed current on rubes thoughts going forward....
1. Not counting added assets in say a theoretical deal with Knicks...would you rather roll with Barrett or Edwards...in 3 yrs...who's the better pro? I lean Edwards but wonder what the consensus is by the masses?
2. If Edwards is our guy...but we'd still like to accumulate value/assets...the potential 3-way deal with us GSW & NYK...still makes a lot of sense for all parties....could we slide back to 2...move 17 to 8...gain Dal 21 FRP...JJ to GSW in their TE (creating one for ourselves)....while we gain Looney...NYK gets Evans/Spellman/#1....GSW gets Mitchell/#17/added future pick from NY's remaining stash.
Why for each...NY---gets Ball...GSW--JJ gives them more flexibility and more stackable draft picks for their trade for that 4th star....MN--we still get Edwards while jumping up with 2nd FRP, gaining Looney (vet that's still only 23), and get a late future 1st (maybe too much our way & the 1st may be too wishful...possibly throw Okogie in deal for Thibs to keep future pick?)
3. Take our new TE & cash it in asap w/ Phx....TE, Nowell, & 8 for Oubre, Payne, & 10.
Why...Phx--strongly considering moving Oubre & his expiring to create some cap space...while jumping a couple spots...MN--roll dice that Oubre is going to continue to improve and he'll stay because of opportunity...a really athletic 3 that's still just 24.
Rotation:
PG: DLo/JMac/Payne
SG: Beasley/Edwards/Okogie or 33?
SF: Oubre/Culver/Layman
PF: Juancho/Patrick Williams/Vanderbilt
C: KAT/Looney/Naz

Oubre has 1 yr left in the contract. Right now he is injured.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
