Report: Heat, Raptors Considered Frontrunners For Giannis Antetokounmpo

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Sep 3, 2020 9:18 pm

The Milwaukee Bucks are down 0-2 to the Miami Heat in their second round series, which has begun to spark speculation about the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo with the franchise.

Antetokounmpo can sign a supermax contract extension with the Bucks this offseason or become a free agent in 2021.

According to Vincent Goodwill, "many in league circles believe Miami and Toronto are the frontrunners in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes, with one observer telling Yahoo Sports 'it’s an open secret' within the Orlando bubble."

The Bucks had the best record in the NBA during the regular season in each of the past two seasons.

In an ironic twist, Giannis will reportedly only sign with Toronto if they first trade for Paul George.

He’s not fooling anyone he’s either gonna finesse his way to Golden State or somehow end up in Boston either way through sign and trade.

The Mavs make the most sense. It's not even close

These reports are comical the only reason the bucks are down 0-2 is Giannis himself and that’s how he will look at it. He’s not going to blame the team for something he has the power to change by playing like he should.

Both teams make 0 sense since they have no cap. He has zero connection with Boston too

How about Memphis? They'll have more cap space and arguably a better core/assets to work with.

I don't think he feels the bucks are capable of winning it all if they lose to the heat. Why come back to the same core. There losing regardless. They can't beat either of the Los Angeles teams. There so over rated. It's not regular season nomore. Teams have adjusted to his weaknesses. Middleton is very good. I like him. Just he needs a bigger superstar playing next to him. Golden State hides his weakness better than any other team. It's either them or Miami because of Pat Riley and there coach. Btw the heat have a better team then the bucks outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo

Yes, Doncic is better than any single player on Memphis. It's the overall core of Memphis and the fact that it wouldn't be hard at all for them to clear the cap space to bring in not only Giannis but also another max player player or multiple high second tier players. I mean the Wade/LeBron/Bosh Heat lost because it was just those 3 and no one else. They could build not only a strong 3 player core but a much deeper/better overall team due to 2 of the core pieces would be on rookie deals still.

After the Kawhi fiasco idk if I would take this rumour seriously.

Why would Giannis join either the Heat or the Raptors when they are both seen as rivals, Giannis looks to me he rather beat them than join them.
