4 straight was overrated.
I know buffalo fans like to talk about what could have been. And currently what the future holds, And hey I’ll admit buffalo beat my team last year my cowboys don’t know what the future holds.
Josh allen can make boneheaded decisions but he’s only going to improve. So I don’t have too much against buffalo other then the fact that we crushed them twice in the big game.
But what I’m here to talk about is the 90s bills and how truly overrated they were. Giving you a little history lesson.
The missing rings documentary from like 07 or 08 I watched it again and Talley stated at the very end that 4 straight was very impressive and it was. There’s no shame in losing 4 superbowls you weren’t supposed to win anyway, Huh what’s that? Oh yeah the bills were not supposed to win any of those games let’s dig deeper.
I’ll first start off by saying that the nfc was clearly a superior conference. The afc by this point had lost the last 6 Super Bowls to the nfc by a total Margin of 26 points.
In 1991. The bills featured a high powered offense kelly in command along with Thomas, reed, and lofton, however while the offense was great it only ranked 7th. As opposed to what people tell you that they were the most unstoppable offense.
They also only went 4-3 against teams with winning records. They were facing a New York defense that allowed the fewest points in the Nfl. And also had prior championship experience. Now everyone wants to talk about the field goal wide right blah blah blah.
Bottom line is this the reason why this game was as close as it was was because the Giants did not have Simms. They had a backup qb. Parcells had a Brillant gameplan and it worked to perfection. If Simms had played this game may not have been as close. And by the way 47 yds is no gimmie either, Even if they had somehow won this game, no guarantee they would have won the next 3 even if they made it. They were simply lucky that Simms didn’t play.
1992. The bills went 13-3. But played a cupcake schedule. So much so that pro football reference ranked them as having the 2nd easiest schedule since 1971. They played 5 games against opponents 4-12 or worse. And a quarter of their games were against teams 3-13 or worse. Meanwhile their eventual opponent the redskins. Played a schedule that featured 10 teams .500 or better,
Not to mention buffalos defense was leaky at best ranking just 19th in yards allowed.
The redskins meanwhile allowed the 2nd fewest points. And while buffalo did score 458 points that season. It was only 2nd to Washington’s 485.
The bills were also extremely lucky in the afc title game, they were shutdown that entire day but managed to escape due to 3 missed field goals by Denver and an elway injury.
So it’s no surprise that when they got to the Super Bowl they got creamed by one of the most underrated teams of all time.
1993. Buffalo did not earn a first round bye had to play a wildcard and once again lucked up due to a miracle by Frank Reich in the wildcard game. None the less they made it to their 3rd straight Super Bowl where they faced my team.
Dallas had a high powered offense with the triplets aikman, Irvin and smith, and their defense ranked 1st in fewest yards allowed.
I’ll give buffalo credit they were competitive somewhat early on in that game, but Dallas eventually found their rhythm. A once somewhat promising game for buffalo turned into a 9 turnover joke of a game. And the bills were looked at as a National joke at this point. 52-17. Should have been 59-10. Lett should have scored and a bills touchdown should have been called back reich was past the line of scrimmage.
Alvin Harper even famously stated before the game that the bills were used to losing and it would be easy work and boy was he right.
1994. The old bills were aging. They were dead last in yards allowed. But managed up the courage to reach their 4th straight title game. It also helps that Montana suffered a concussion in the afc title game, but anyway. Buffalo actually started off this game well 13-6 at halftime. But eventually we knew it would happen everyone in America knew it. Dallas used Emmett smith ran it down the bills throats and never looked back. And with that ladies and gentleman the bills became the first team to lose 4 straight superbowls.
This wasn’t a Super Bowl caliber team never was, the afc was just extremely weak.

The young Cowboy, Jerry Jones era Cowboy fans, are so annoying. Who cares at the moment what happened 29 years ago. But since you brought it up, lets talk about how Jerry ruined probably the best dynasty in the NFL with his interference and lack of football whits. Got rid of the coach who built that team in Jimmy and then started to handcuff the team with bad contracts starting with Deion Sanders preventing us to keeping guys like Hall of Famer, Larry Allen. That team was so stacked they surely should have and would have won more than 3 Super Bowls if he kept his fu..... nose out of everything and just played the owner role. In Jerry's 32 years of ownership, we've only had 3 great seasons. Haven't got by the divisional round in 24 years for a franchise that is number 1 in the whole world. How disgraceful. Think about it. Only 3 great seasons in 32 years. Us old school, original cowboy fans that were around when the team and franchise was built from nothing and created America's before you were born and Jerry bought the team find it shameful you young generation act like this after the Bills kicked our ass last year. Your loyalty to Jerry Jones is like the republicans being loyal to Trump. Both are way over rated.

Who said I was loyal to Jerry Jones you moron? Do you think I don’t want to see us win another title? And I’ve been a Dallas fan since before you were even in your daddy’s ballsack. Try being a cowboys fan for 37 years. I’ve seen it all from good times to bad.

Since 1985. 1985.. I’ll say it again 1985!! I watched us go 1-15 in 89. I watched the romo years. I watched qbs like Bledsoe, Drew Henson etc when the cowboys were on hard times. I watched us pass on randy moss and have him torch us that very same year. Don’t you dare call me a new generation fan.

If anything it’s younger people like you that don’t appreciate a good qb like dak that’s finally going to take us to the promise land.

Try 51 years troll. And you are still not making sense and why you started your first post thrashing the Bills from 29 years ago.

We went to NFL Championship games and Super bowls with lesser QB's Like Dandy Don and Craig Morton. We had an actual owner, a system and a legendary coach. And don't start talking **** about Dak taking us to the promised land till we get by the divisional round. And where did you find from was posted above by me that I didn't appreciate Dak? Or are you just assuming making yourself look bad?

Wrong. Minnesota Vikings lost their first 4 Super Bowls. IV, VIII, IX & XI.
