"The chief of police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where two people were shot and killed on a night of protests after Jacob Blake's shooting, appeared to shift the blame for the shooting to those who broke the city's curfew.

During a Wednesday news conference, Kenosha Police Chief Daniel Miskinis said the shooting may not have happened if demonstrators and the accused gunman had obeyed the city's newly imposed 8 p.m. curfew."

The racism that comes out of this man's mouth is unbelievable. He needs to be fired immediately.

There's a big fight brewing in Texas between the City of Austin and the Governor of Texas over the city's unanimous decision to defund its police department by $150 million. They believe that moving that money into other areas of city government and that these changes will reduce crime. I agree.

Great job by the Mayor and City Council in Austin to pass these bills which are huge. They even take disciplinary matters away from the Internal Affairs Division. Wow.

WTF is with these sadistic mofos?

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/video-police-hood-black-man-died-new-york_n_5f50502cc5b6946f3ead0f67

A Black man who had run naked through the streets of a western New York city died of asphyxiation after a group of police officers put a hood over his head, then pressed his face into the pavement for two minutes, according to video and records released Wednesday by the man’s family.

Daniel Prude died March 30 after he was taken off life support, seven days after the encounter with police in Rochester. His death received no public attention until Wednesday, when his family held a news conference and released police body camera video and written reports they obtained through a public records request.

“I placed a phone call for my brother to get help. Not for my brother to get lynched,” Prude’s brother, Joe Prude, said at a news conference Wednesday. “How did you see him and not directly say, ‘The man is defenseless, buck naked on the ground. He’s cuffed up already. Come on.’ How many more brothers gotta die for society to understand that this needs to stop?”

so someone wrote a book in defense of looting..... interesting timing.

Apparently it's written by a Caucasian woman too.... fairly young one to say the least.

NPR & the New Yorker gave her a listen.... but man what an "interesting" way to frame the conversation.

Fodder for the right wing folks too

The new case of cop murder in Rochester is just awful. Sack over the head of a naked man in the freezing rain. I just can't deal with this chit any more.

Where are all of the good cops when you need them? They supposedly outnumber the bad ones 9-1 or something like that.

That's a BS number probably put out by the unions. I keep saying there aren’t any because that would require reporting or arresting a fellow officer for committing their crimes. If they did that, their police careers are over. They’ll never get any backup and will be ostracized by the union and its rank and file.

As David pointed out in the video, the unions have become too powerful.

This particular cop lies his ass off about someone with a gun 'matching your description' as he is holding a black man at gunpoint but it is absolute bullisht! He also then goes on to terrorize two more black men at gun point while cursing at them. Even got called out for this by the manager who gave him the description....let me explain it more.

He is told by the manager before these incidents that it is a white guy with black shirt and pants then the cop comes across an employee of the hotel wearing a light colored shirt who tells the cop he works there but the cop goes on to say the cliche magic words of 'matching your description' which obviously is a lie....blatant lie.... racist that needs to be fired lie.

Nobody shot but this shows how this often used phrase is abused by police to mess with blacks even when the cop is wearing bodycam so should know it will come out eventually but this lying tactic is so ingrained in their habituation it's evidence of the personal and systematic bias that undoubtedly isn't the first time this has happened with this cop.

This is my neck of the woods and it's quite a diverse large college and progressive city with a new young first ever black Mayor.

I like David Doel but he may be wrong here.

Those are counter protesters, blue lives matter Trump supporters that cops escorted them to their car who appear to have bought a surplus police vehicle and have as a personal car but it isn't currently in service for the police.

Not completely confirmed yet but this is the story going around about the scenario for the incident.
