He is still a young player, but Nesmith could have a similar or better rookie year than what Tyler Herro had.

How? Herro has a handle and passing talents that even a prime Nesmith could only dream of.

His 3PT% is inflated based on a crazy like 7 game stretch against ugly talent. He shoots the ball slowly, low and with little spin. Every time it goes in, and it goes in alot somehow, it looks like a gift from the creator. I just dont see it with him. If he was like 6'8 with a + wingspan, I may buy it. But right now he is getting SF looks at 6'6 and like 205lbs. Literally the same size as Gary Trent Jr who clearly is a pure SG.

I think people are hoping he is someone that he isnt. Take that 7 game stretch out and the dude is as pedestrian as you can imagine. Hell, to me his top trait is that he hit nearly 2 combined steals/blocks and for a wing thats generally a really good sign that you can hold up athletically in the NBA.

AKME? More like MEAK with how they're afraid to make a move to push us in one direction.

I would not be surprised if he was never more than a specialist just looking at stats, but overall I think most of us might be sleeping on his upside. I guess what I mean is maybe the on ball issues wont be an issue if he lands in the right situation .
I would take a flier on him as high as 12 and after range if I needed a elite catch and shoot option in my rotation more than anything else . He has decent defensive awareness and mobility without the ball is not an issue. Only concerns with upside remain the lack of isolation skills on ball and his first step based on overall limitations as a ballhandler and lack of passing vision awareness etc. relegating him to being a good fit on a roster with a true creator that isnt a score first type and the last part making it hard to find a good fit

You might have hit something here.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

I'd take him at 14 if he's there without the blink of an eye. He moves well off the ball, and at least he should be able to hit 3s on an average percentage unless he goes full Fultz (the sample size is being overblown, he is not Klay, but he isn't bad either).

He isn't putrid on defense so he should be an upgrade over us relying on Ojeleye, Langford, G. Williams making wide open shots.

From what I've seen of the highlights, I've been more impressed with his driving, cutting and aggression than I have his shooting - perhaps because all everyone talks about is his shooting.

His ball handling is pretty much bad on several levels but his off ball movement is solid and his open shots are $

Kyle Korver?

No way, his shot is overrated as hell. Korver is on a different planet.

Kyle shoots quick, high and gets square to the basket off picks at a generational level. Nesmith shoots slow and low.

Every time I get excited about Nesmith I remember that Shan Foster was my favorite 2nd rounder in 2008. Both vandy wings with almost identical stats, both elite college scorers and shooters, both lacking foot speed....

I think Nesmith is better than Shan, but I can't help but think Foster was reallllly impressive as well.

I havent completely flipped on this kid but I definitely am not as high on him as I was preinjury.
I do think he will have to make some improvements across the board to be a starter level prospect so because of that he is probably not a lottery pick

I'm not going to say Nesmith is the next Klay, but Nesmith is a better or rich man's version of Tyler Herro.
