Richardson sucks, but I still wouldn't want to swap him with Redick. That's going backwards.

I doubt OKC would take Horford/Richardson simply because of financial reasons. They only save ~$3 mil, and I think money is the main reason they’re trading him.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

If money is the main reason they're trading him, then they can take a Knicks deal of Randle, Portis, Gibson. They can decline team options on Portis and Gibson and save $26m right there. Also, Randle is only guaranteed for $4m the year after that.
I don't see the Knicks giving them any draft capital, either, though.
Also what prospects would the Thunder even be interested in. I only see Frankie Smokes and kicking the tires on Dennis Smith as appealing to them.

They have to trade him. It is pretty obvious that Paul is not playing another year there. He rebuilt his value so it will not cost them too much to move him.
But they will move him to the highest bidder. Paul's preferences could come into play if the differences in value are small enough though.

He says OKC tried to sign Horford back before be went to Boston due to the connection to the coach.
If there is a deal involving Horford going out and Paul coming in, even if it includes Thybulle or Korkmaz or Shake, whatever...I think that is the most realistic way for this team to win a title in their current window.
But then what do you do in 2 years?
I have some hope the Thunder will want Zhaire Smith instead of Shake, Thybulle, or Kork. Presti loves springy athletes, which is why he tried to get Jerami Grant from us for awhile until BCB finally made the deal.
Horford + Smith + Scott (salary filler) + X
Can we get away with X = 2nd rounders only? Or will it have to be #21 or a future 1st?
This is where we need CP3 to muscle Presti behind the scenes to send him here for less.
Horford + Smith + Scott + #21 is the highest I'd go. If they say no or find a better package, then so be it. There are going to be 1-2 other realistic suitors for him. He's not the type of player (contract, age, injury history) you get into a bidding war for.
Paul(30)/Milton(18)
Richardson(30)/Korkmaz(18)
Harris(20)/Thybulle(28)
Simmons(34)/Harris(14)
Embiid(30)/MLE(18)
If you can find a good deal for Harris/Richardson (i.e. McCollum/Ariza) then go for it. If not, then try that rotation with a new coach and hope for the best. Not a ton of roster flexibility at the moment.
It's a great point but one I fear Brand might not realize (as with bidding against himself with Horford and Harris). There can't really be that many teams who would seriously be after Paul for many reasons. If there's a bidding war, so be it and excuse yourself.
Also fully agreed on your last point. If there's a deal to be made then make it but otherwise just suck it and see if next year is better. If not, at least the contracts aged a year.

Presti is also the lord of getting ransoms. I'm sure he'll shop Paul around a bit, probably ends up at whoever is more desperate out of us or Milwaukee.

Outside of CP3, I still think there’s something that will brew between Tobias and Buddy. I would attach Richardson + Korkmaz if it meant getting Bjelica + Joseph back.
Add that to the CP3/Horford + swap above and you get a very balanced squad IMO.
Paul(30)/Joseph(18)
Hield(32)/Milton(16)
Thybulle(30)/Simmons(14)/Milton(4)
Simmons(20)/Bjelica(28)
Embiid(30)/MLE(18)
Paul/Joseph/Micic
Hield/Milton/Burks
Thybulle/#34/Shayok
Simmons/Bjelica/#36
Embiid/MLE/Pelle

I wouldn't think so. Most of the young guards they bring in have defensive acumen or are hyperathletic. Shake is neither of those things.
Based on their tendencies, I would assume Thybulle would be their most coveted and they'd be curious about Zhaire Smith based on the athleticism (See Ham Diallo).

Redick was our emotional leader but let's stop romanticizing his importance. He was a trainwreck defensively that was attacked relentlessly. You're not a serious playoff team when you're lining up J.J. Redick for over 30 minutes a night.
He was the sole reason we had spacing last year. We had the worlds worst defensive coach guiding us on defense. There are ways to hide weak defenders. We didnt implement any

All I can say is thank God you arent control of this team lol. There arent many people that could do worse than weve done, but I think you are on that short list lol
I just want the free agency to start now so we can all be in agreement that whatever we do will be awful

A small trade I'd be interested in this summer would be grabbing Monte Morris from the Nuggets.
Shake for Monte would work and I feel would benefit us greatly; to the point where I'd be fine with starting him. Doesn't turn the ball over much, great vision, runs the offense well, hits open shots.
I'd be interested in that route if everything else falls through.

Bruh keep it logical Tobias Harris and Mike Scott for Chris Paul makes sense.
OKC Gallaniri 32 and Muscala are free agents . Tobias is younger and locked in long term . Cheaper than Paul and fits a need. Scott adds depth.

Tobias doesn't really add anything to OKC's timeline. SGA is a corner piece of the franchise and he's 22. They are trying to rebuild by getting assets and building around SGA. Tobias is 6 years older than him, needs the ball in his hands, and will turn them into a fringe playoff team.
OKC and the Sixers are likely trying to do the same thing: shed their massive contracts.
I don't see us as partners but rather competitors in this offseason trade market.

People on the general board consider Paul a negative value since he is a 35 year old who is owed 86M over the next 2 years. They will need a mighty dumb GM to give anything of value for him, though they are smart to try - his value is only going down from here after his first healthy season in years.

If the Lakers lose in the playoffs (and possibly even if they win) I could see them sending over their army of expiring contracts to get CP3 since they likely need a third banana and someone who can create at the G position. CP3 also would likely check his ego at the door since this would be his last legitimate chance at a championship.

Yeah Lakers are a prime candidate to get CP3. With the clock ticking on LeBron they'll have no qualms going "all-in" for the next 2 seasons.
If CP3 + LeBron + Davis are all healthy that team is extremely difficult to beat. Doesn't matter who you surround them with.

I didn’t even think of the Lakers for cp3. I honestly kinda just want that to happen now.

If that's the case, then Mike Scott and Harris should get it done for Paul. I'd do that, I'd do a second round pick with it, but no way should we part with a first.

I'm still not seeing the upside for OKC to get Harris. They won't be competing for the foreseeable future and he's not under the age of 25 with a massive contract. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
