I always ask my Bulls fan friend how he's doing and he's not so high on him. Says he doesn't seem like he really cares about basketball, in the same way some Sixers fans talk about Ben.

I loved Okeke last year too even with the injury. I really wanted him actually.

Negro would be a great GM. Definitely a higher hit rate on prospects he loves than the typical front office decision makers.

Yea, I mean, he's had injuries and is playing a vet heavy position (Thad Young & Otto Porter occupy the same areas).

He still has an elite first step as a 6'8 SF with a 7'2 wingspan along with excellent positional handles and great defensive IQ. Obviously his kryptonite is his shot.

But anyone will look lethargic playing on the Bulls right now. I'm actually feeling optimistic about him since he hasn't been a total dud in the league thus far.

I wasn't that high on Hutchinson's defense or shooting as a prospect. While his shooting is taking its time, he's wowed me defensively. I think that's a great sign. Dudes that come into the league defending at a high level sometimes turn into something special. The Jimmy Butler path. We already know Hutchingson possesses some scoring off the dribble based off his junior year at Boise. Once they give him some creative freedom, he might be a two-way beast.

Hopefully they keep slow-cooking him because he might be something special.

I really liked Donovan Mitchell coming out, and wanted that lakers pick to convey in 2017, but I definitely would have taken Malik Monk.

Sneaky good pick for Orlando. They might be better geared to stop the Celtics wings in the coming years than anyone else in the East with those huge jumbo wing defenders they're accumulating.

Any chance that we can package #34 and #36 and sneak back into round 1?

That way if we do burn a 1st rounder in a trade for a playoff stud PG, we at least have a fallback option to land a longterm piece in the 20s.

This past draft is probably going to take a minute for the guys I like to pan out.

I was a huge Nickeil Walker Alexander fan and at our spot and later I was beating the drum for Terence Davis, Dedric Lawson, and Jarrell Brantley. Still feel pretty good about those guys from a talent perspective, but it feels like Lawson has some baggage. Brantley and Davis made playoff rosters with Davis getting some legit bench time. NAW capped his season with a 29 point performance.

Was a pretty fun draft from a depth perspective. This current draft is brutal in comparison.

I was just wondering when they were going to do the combine and pre-draft workouts.

Loved NAW too.

I remember thinking we were going 'nova double dipping in 2018 with Mikal and Divencenzo

Watching Payton Pritchard video just had me drooling over Will Richardson for next year's draft. I see him as a bonafide 1st round stud. Two-way shotcreator animal. Star upside.

I would take this dude in the lotto THIS year if he came out.

Packaging 34 + 36 should get us up to around 25-28, depending on if/how interested teams are in trading back.

You can bet Joshua would rather sell one of the picks for ca$h instead though so don't count on it.

Of non-lottery picks, there are only two guys in this draft that fulfills a pretty elite stat line that I generally look for in prospects:

+.6 TS%, +2 STL%, +5 OBPM, +2 DBPM, +10 AST%

Mason Jones and Skylar Mays. Tyler Bey too, but I'm focusing on pure wings.

I'd be fine with drafting him at 21. Feels like a stretch based on mock drafts, but his numbers back up his value.

Tankathon has Mason Jones going undrafted. Would love to snag him w/one of our late 2nd rounders.

What's the problem with him anyway? Lack of athleticism? His stats are insane. Steal rate looks pretty good too, which gives some hope he can compete on D.

Yea, lack of athleticism. But I've said we should move Shake while his value is high because we can get a variation of him in Mason Jones. One of the better IQs I've seen in this draft to make up for his lack of explosiveness.

I think we need to keep Shake. His 3 year minimum contract is invaluable to us considering how much money we've blown elsewhere. I keep him unless blown away by an offer.

Happy to add Jones though w/that late 2nd.

I'm fine with keeping him, but if some team views him as a stud young player on a good contract and is willing to use him as a sweetener to move Horford or Harris, I'll pack his bags for him. He's pretty replaceable in my opinion.

I wanted to shout out my man Negrodamus from the Sixers draft threads. Lived up to his name a bunch of time by coming out hard for players that, in retrospect, we all should've seen coming. His signature is 'these picks would be perfect for us, but we'll inevitably end up taking whichever overrated schlub the draft websites have higher than them.' Those threads are all locked because they're dated to those particular drafts, but here are a couple examples. (If he were only our GM those years, sigh.)

In 2017 he spent weeks pitching Donovan Mitchell as a top pick, with posts like this:
"I mean, if you objectively look at it, he's a better at almost everything than Ball except for passing and three point shooting (however I like Mitchell's potential as a shooter in the NBA much more since he's got a form shooting coaches can work with). He's a more versatile offensive player than Monk, by a lot. He is on the same tier defensively (some might argue Mitchell is better) than Fox and he can also get his shot wherever he wants on the court, and, you know, actually make it. He's infinity times better at defense than Fultz and Smith. On top of that, he's in the same echelon of athlete as all of them, vertically and laterally. So, when we're talking about potential and swinging for the fences, I'm not sure where an explosive, two way scoring sophomore guard falls in that category."

The year after he beat the drum for the Sixers taking SGA at #10 for months and months:
"I've really been struggling to keep SGA (low). His tourney season (SEC/NCAA) might be the best during that stretch of any guard. 6 games: 20ppg (52% FG, 54% 2FG, 42% 3FG), 8 FTA per game (84% FT), 6 apg, 6 rpg, 2 spg, 2.5 topg. Efficient with volume. The funny thing is, if you do the last 10 games, it's arguably more efficient in the scoring department. He was just dominating people."
"Not to be the SGA propaganda machine, but he's the reason this team made a complete turn around...Along with him being determined to be great and having the stats + ideal height/length makes him pretty can't miss to me"

In '17 there were a couple of us who were very vocal about how Fultz was overrated, but he was the only one who kept repeating that Tatum was the real star:
"I'm still a bit confused as to how Tatum isn't even in the discussion for #1 or even #2. I don't think I've wavered off him as the best player since midway through conference play. 2 way player with size, agility to defend multiple positions, and a foul drawing scorer with textbook jumper."
"His size and skill makes me think he's the best prospect in the draft. He's been great off ball and in ISO situations ever since Duke has been honed in. The idea that he's just a ball dominant scorer is really a fallacy now. He's actually very much playing within their system and thriving. I think people see the "ISO KILLER" headline for that DX video and assume he's a ball hog."
"BTW, Tatum is the best player in this draft. He's scoring at will right now. Carry on."
"Mock drafts have Celtics taking Tatum. They're going to end up with possibly the best player in the draft and he fits their system. Good for them, I guess."

Lol, I'm flattered, but I have some pretty good misses too.

While I hit pretty hard on those two drafts, I don't think I hit on prospects any more than Kobble does.

It's still very impressive nonetheless.
