Scouting Reports:
Dodgers:
Penny struggled against the Nationals on Wednesday afternoon, allowing six runs on eight hits while striking out only one in five innings. The righty didn't figure in the decision, despite leaving the game down, 8-3. The Nationals just peppered the All-Star, putting the ball in play pitch after pitch, and Penny didn't help his cause, leaving his fastball up in the zone too often. Penny is 2-2 with a 2.60 ERA in seven career starts against the Cubs.
Cubs:
Trachsel will likely make his first start for the Cubs since Sept. 3, 1999. The right-hander, acquired by the Cubs from Baltimore for two Minor Leaguers, was needed for his experience. He also had a solid August, posting a 2.37 ERA last month. The only player left from his first stint with the Cubs is Kerry Wood.

I seriously don't know how we're going to score against this guy.. i know he had a bad outing last time but that's just one game... If we can only 2 runs against Loazia i wonder how we're going to fair against Big Boy Penny???

I know we are winning at least 2 games in this series. If we win this game, it can prove we can win the tough game.

This game is on Comcast.
I feel all games in September should be on WGN so everyone can watch.
I remember back in 2003 in September when we were playing the Reds in a key series at the end of the year and a game was on WCIU.
I had Dish Network back then and Dish Network didn't have WCIU as a channel so I had to set up a mini battery powered very small TV just to watch the game.
I think we ended up losing that game and I was pissed.

Now that you mention that I am beginning to remember some of that game.
I remember going into that game preparing for the worst and I was going nuts after the game.
That 2003 season was so magical

Brad Penny is a solid pitcher. I think that the Cubs will have a hard time scraping across runs in this game. Brad Penny has got some nasty stuff and the Cubs veteran hitters have to step up this game if they want a win.

Usually that means we put up 10 runs tonight.
We do bad against the crappy pitchers.
