Yes to Donovan. Proven coach with playoff experience.

Easier for him to join the bulls given lower expectation coming from a low base. Any improvement from him will be amplified.

If he joins sixers, the pressure is high with a shorter runway.

If you believe that statement, then logically he wouldn't want to come here either as we are in the same rebuilding situation.

The 2 best jobs were the Nets and Sixers. I think he is going for the Sixers job.

My guess is we end up in the route of a whole new face first time coach.

I think there is a difference from our rebuilding that we are in the last stages of as losing seasons are not part of the plan and the objective is to improve immediately vs what okc is potentially about to do which is get real bad real quick and some 15-20 win seasons are on the horizon.

Being apart of the bigger marker might be an attractive selling point as well. But I can def see the sixers as a high choice for him.

Difference between OKC and Chicago

Bulls have talent. Question is if a coach is able to maximize that talent.

OKC is going to tear things down so at lest next season wont have much on the roster.

Would love to have Billy Donavan. It’ll be nice for him to start with a young team. I thought he did well this season, and definitely a worthy COY candidate.

As for Bud, I’d like to have him too, but he may want to coach a team that’s ready to contend.

I don’t get why OKC needs to go that route? They were so close to beating Houston, why not build on that and try to get better instead of tearing everything down? Doesn’t make any sense.

On Donavon I wouldn’t mind him as the bulls coach, he probably just became one of the best available candidates. His last years coaching OKC weren’t the greatest with superstars but this season he did a really good job for them. Let’s see if he even considers Chicago, sure they have talent but no clue how to win games consistently yet.

The reality of Oklahoma City’s eventual transition toward a rebuild made it a challenge for the two sides to find a way to continue forward together, sources said.

I've got to think Philly trumps us as a landing spot for Donovan.

I also think we have some rebuilding to do, so not crazy about the fit.

I think it's likely that we get Chris Paul and even Donovan.

At least we should be looking at that.

OKC almost won a playoff round against the Rockets this year. The Bulls havent sniffed the playoffs in years. Not sure this statement holds water (at least not as it sits today). Considering the future, who on the Bulls roster currently gets you excited about a playoff run the next 2yrs? I dont think Donovan is willing to be a basement dweller the next 2 yrs. Maybe he'd be willing to do 1yr and mold the younger guys who are staying into his system, but if he truly isnt willing to sit through a rebuild, the Bulls have no chance at him. Bulls just hired a GM, this team is about to get a whole lot worse the next 2yrs, as they blow this up and start over.

AK is looking to win next season and will be making trades to get it done before the deadline JMO.

Hiring Bud or Donavan wouldn’t surprise me. Paying them would. JR has never done that. Almost hired D’Antoni but he used JR as leverage to get more from Dolan.

Likely?

Bucks will paying a first for CP3. AK won’t be coughing that up.

Sixers could hire Kidd, Lu, or Bud.

I think Donavan goes to Pels. Better talent. Can make playoffs next season and Griffin is a great mind and GM.
