I know. Crazy. There's no way we're trading Mitch. In fact, we should be planning on when to make him an early offer locking him up at a significant raise which is still a bargain for us. 4 years/$30-32M?

While I agree we should lock him up now, Rich Paul aint going for that cheap deal.

that's from 3 months ago too. and he has 4 more months to work on his shot and his handle. just be patient and let's see what we got when the season starts. this extra time is a blessing for his development.

I have noticed Mitch's touch, handle, and speed for his size even though he has not showcased it much. Just by looking at him play the game is easy for him. The fact that he is vocal about his new bag is encouraging.

Haven't you heard bro? We're packaging him and #8 to move up in THIS great draft. SMH

i'm sure he works on it. we really only see the pickup games clips but he has a real trainer and works on all kinds of things. there's even a clip of him practicing post moves somewhere out there.

I'm not saying he hasn't been working on it. But if you asked me the one thing I want to see improvement on next year over anything else. Is FT%.

That will be the most important for me. If he can make FT's when we hopefully get good we wont have to worry about taking him out down the stretch of games because he is a below 60% for his career.

Nothing too shocking here, but for anyone interested or wanting to discuss, ESPN spoke with some NBA executives and scouts about the short-term future:

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29793884/nba-draft-buzz-league-insiders-warriors-trades-top-prospects

Bullet point version:
- Minnesota wants Devin Booker, but he's not on the table. They'll likely just take Edwards.
- Golden State is shopping Wiggins and their picks. Booker's not available, nor is Beal, nor Simmons nor Embiid. Best targets may be Jrue Holiday or Marcus Smart, though Boston may not want to move the latter either. If for whatever reason GS can't move the pick, the consensus is they'll take Wiseman.
- Hawks and Phoenix are likely to at least consider moving their picks and capspace for win-now help.
- Underrated prospects in this draft: Cassius Stanley, Desmond Bane, Jaden McDaniels, Isaac Okoro
- Overrated prospects in this draft: Obi Toppin, Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman
- Consensus opinion: the draft and free agency will both be pushed back until mid-November
- Consensus opinion: the 2020-21 cap and luxury tax will be "smoothed" and end up the same as this year's

Wiggins was the guy that basically got Thibs fired (by not buying into the system and not being Teflon KAT lol) so chances probably not good now that the Knicks will agree to take on Wiggins giant sized max contract for that 2nd overall pick. But you never know I guess. But that would be a real expensive price to pay for the 2nd overall pick and LaMelo Ball.

i doubt they want to handicap themselves with that salary for the next 3 years for a pick in this weak draft, thibs or no thibs.

Yeah don't disagee. $31 million per for the next 3 years for a guy like Wiggins is a pretty steep price if all you're getting is the no.2 pick.

Trading Mitch doesn’t seem like a smart decision. Idk what this talk is related to, but he’s a beast even with his limited skill set that’s he’s shown in game action. And that’s with our trash roster and trash coaching and trash management.

Boost up his output by at least 25% if we somehow finally, and mercifully, have competency. Jury still out on that.

I agree as well... but I don't have a feel for this FO yet. They may be like some fans and think Wiggins + Ball is worth it. Lawd I hope this FO doesn't do an Isiah move

All depends on how confident you are in the prospects. I would have done it in 2018 but I was all in on that draft.

If you think you got a cornerstone, who cares about the short term cap hit? You can always dump money down the line. Get the actual foundation in place for the next decade.

If they are all in on LaMelo, do it IMO

There’s no way they’re just going to dump the pick to just dump Wiggins. They have no way to add a player of that salary.
