Guess they want a clearer picture on the finances, especially what is going to happen to the salary cap and prospects for having fans back in the stands.

So....nothing like Monta

The player he just described is a borderline HOF level talent... Monta with more athleticism is Westbrook. Westbrook with an outside shot would be... insanely good.

Westbrook's defense and team game is weak. Him having an outside shot doesn't fix those issues. With a shot he'd be better, but he's been overrated for a long time.

And we could get him in the 2nd round!!!!

A draft site comparison is Latrell Sprewell. I see Monta Ellis with hops and a better 3point shot. Not HOF level or all star level, but at role player level.

Not sure if any of yall listen to Light Years podcast but there was an interesting discussion on the draft with more details then im used to hearing on the draft prospects, especially Mr. Wiseman. If you’re interested...
https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/andrew-byrne/light-years/e/77556140

Edit: The comp provided for Wiseman was along the lines of a Myles Turner type.

17 pts, 11 reb, high level rim protection. Defensive scheme would need to change with him on the court as he’d be unable to effectively switch on the perimeter.

Apparently very smart and coachable. Maybe needs his self perception adjusted a bit.

Other guys discussed with some detail:
Patrick Williams, Ant Edwards, Nesmith... im sure there were more but i listened to it over 2 days and im old so i forget, hahah

He's definitely overrated, as overrated as any player has been in this era. But shooting covers up a lot of flaws. Back to the Stanley comp, if he's got Monta in him and he shoots well, he won't have to rely on his athleticism as much and risk burning out the same way Monta did and Westbrook is doing right now.

The only thing Cassius Stanley is gonna do early on, in order to get on the floor, is play awesome wing defense.

That’s his ticket right now. Be Matisse Thybulle.

Then hopefully he will learn to shoot the three in a consistent manner.

I don’t care about all the other stuff. Play D, hit open looks.

His weakness is shooting form/technique, but is listed as a 3 & D wing. The trouble is he's moved up to late first or early second based on hype as 3 & D player and his size. He's now a SF candidate for a guard.

Stanley’s hype is that he has the biggest vertical leap in the draft class and possibly the best athlete in the entire draft.

If he’s moving up boards it’s because people are starting to pay attention. Because in the second round he’s good value. If he moves up into the first, then it’s where he should have been all along.

Same with his compadre Vernon Carey who is being criminally underrated.

I’m off the Halliburton bandwagon. He shoots like a WNBA player...

Wow, that stroke is gross.

That stroke is money. Short and compact. Just not sure if he can be a movement or pull up shooter.

Nobody is arguing about his catch and shoot ability. It's about everything else when it comes to offense. If they take away that spot up option what else can he do?

I don't see defenses respecting that shot. Al-Faroq Aminu had a problem a few years ago where no matter what percentage he shot from three, defenses just would sag off of him and it would muck up Portland's spacing. I could see a similar thing happening to Haliburton until he proves his NBA range. But my bigger concern would be getting that I can't see that shot coming off of the dribble. How do you repeat that motion consistently pulling up?

The other rap against Haliburton seems to be that he's just not physical or athletic enough to take to to the rim and finish efficiently. Supposedly he passed up a lot of chances to take it to the hole?

Stanley was apparently a stud in high school, which would explain how he ended up at Duke. But he didn't live up to the hype at Duke?

I wouldn’t worry about Haliburton. He’s very savvy. Don’t confuse being under control with some sort of lack of anything.

And he has an array of step back and side steps to get off his three point looks. He’s a solid shooter, just isn’t your prototypical shot.

He’s very similar to Livingston, except for having range.
