If Ben doesn't go down with the knee injury there's a strong likelihood we're watching Philly play the Raptors tonight instead of discussing a silly social media post made by the organization.

People acting like they know how Simmons works...ya'll don't have a clue.

I couldn't care less if he ever attempted a jumpshot. My whole issue with Simmons is his inability to score off the dribble in the mid-range.

In the playoffs, he's basically reduced to being a defensive specialist and that's tough to consider, given his contract.

I was more making fun of the team for that tweet. It’s kind of funny when they are listing an accolade like “1st overall pick” when they just traded away Fultz for next to nothing.

Can’t really complain, at least there’s shooting in COD. Haters who complain he doesn’t shoot, go watch one of his stream

ive watched him a couple times. dude is legit good at fps shooters lol, if there was a celeb league for cod, he'd easily be right up there. he's good enough for it to be a solid side hustle but if wanted to stream full time, dude would need more personality

dude got no problem doin 360 no scope headshots from across the map but won't take the open 3 :x

still, glad hes ours though :D

+1000 for me.

And i dont even care how much his contract is. It’s more of his role on the team..

Is he a top 1-2 player on the team or is he a glue guy? I think that should be defined.

Im rooting for him to be better thats why I ask more from him. And the team expects a lot from him.

Because if you want to be the top 1-2 player on a championship team, you better be able to drop atleast 20-30pts on a nightly basis.

Cancers are highly intuitive, and their psychic abilities manifest in tangible spaces: For instance, Cancers can effortlessly pick up the energies of a room. These crabs are highly sensitive to their environments, as well as extremely self-protective

Does that explain a little why he’s reluctancy to shoot?

If ben shoots and his shooting percentage drops, you’ll have to trade Ben with a first to get Norman Powell in return.

He’s not shooting because he doesnt want to show his weakness and have his potential be a mystery.

And i dont mind him not shooting 3s. As long as he will be more aggressive and be more efficient scoring on offense.

His age is his potential. He needs to try to shoot this year, so teams know he's not a timid nutjob.

I do agree that he's better suited if he's at least willing to attack and get to the free throw line. When he had his best stretch into January, this was why. But, the fact is, yes the reason other players don't fit, because he won't shoot.

People can complain about the front office signings they have made
But if what some people consider your best player, won't try to improve this team goes no where. You gotta stop looking for a better player, when you have a big 2. At some point they either become superstars, or you're wasting time

You and I agree on the bolded part.

Like I said this roster is constructed with the assumption that Ben and Biid will make leaps to their game similar to young players like Tatum, mitchell, murray, siakam and others. Right now, both of them are getting left behind in terms of development. One is not showing any improvement on offense, the other is declining on both offense and defense.

I think he has to improve his shooting but I dont think he will shoot it unless he can make those at a good %. And the best indicator is his FT%

Do you guys think Ben will be better than Russell Westbrook?

Ive been looking at both guys’ numbers and see a lot of similarities. But RW has been way better on aggressiveness on offense, 3pt shooting, FT shooting and scoring. And if these three departments are what Ben will focus on improving, then is RW just his utmost upside?

I've thought about it all year. Offensively I just don't think so. Defensively he's light year's ahead.

This postseason has shed a lot of light on Ben Simmons type players. Giannis, Pascal, Russ that are basically transition dynamos with limited half court ability, and Ben has the least half court ability currently. Even if we get to see him become an elite roll man someday, that's not something you can rely on in crunch time.

It's simple, Ben cannot be your first option, maybe not second option too depending on his future improvements. But the difference is that he is suited for the modern game unlike Embiid, with a proper coach and system he just doesn't kill ball movement and is capable of making other players better thanks to his passing and playmaking skillset, he is the perfect second/third option that any team needs.
We still need to find that unicorn guy that can score on the ball however, and that's easily the hardest part.
Horrible takes since 2016
