Bulls flip Lauri + #4 to the Warriors for #2

Simple draft-day deal:

Warriors trade #2 + TPE
Bulls trade #4 + Lauri Markkanen

Warriors add a stretch 4/5 and draft Okongwu or Okoro.
Bulls move up to draft Wiseman or Edwards.

That's pretty good. There's a real chance they could still get Wiseman or flip the #4 and Wiggins for a quality player like Vuc or a different Center the GSW fans would approve of (who can't shoot or score) :wink:

2 to 4 doesn't matter too much for GSW, IMO. Not sure I'd do it for CHI unless they must have Ball or Edwards. I still think Lauri's got some game when the dysfunction clears.

Not sure about Lauri's defense, but I probably do this for GSW. He at least adds a stretch big to the roster.
We'd have a little over 10M left of our TPE.
I think at 4 GSW either looks to trade down again or goes Okoro / Deni / Vassell. (I would prefer Okoro / Vassell... so they would probably take Deni)

If the Bulls love a player Minny passes on they should do this. If the Warriors don't love a player or want to do the smart thing and trade the pick with Wiggins for vet role players this is a sneaky way to pull another asset out so I like it.

Bulls would have to fall in love with a player in the top three, who exactly is that guy out of this draft class?

I don't see how you can turn this down if you are the Warriors.

If the Bulls don't want to pay Lauri in a year, it might not be bad. I don't think the Warriors would throw in the Minny 2021 pick.

I mean re-framing it to hate it is something people can do, but boy does it seem like a waste of time.

Wiggins is the only contract of any size that they want to move to get good players in there. He's a negative player so they have to add incentive, but its not about dumping Wiggins. It's never been about dumping Wiggins. It's about having good players around the existing core and this is the most realistic financial path to that.

From what I've heard, GSW doesn't love anyone in this draft. Can't say I blame them, but I'm excited for having a top 2 pick anyways. I'll save the disappointment for the regular season when we see whoever we draft under perform. :lol:

I think the Warriors will keep Wiggins and he'll be your new Harrison Barnes.

I'm okay with Harrison Barnes. He helped us win a title in 2015 and his hideous play in the 2016 helped make CLE happy and gave us a few years of Durant. If Wiggins can do that, that's a total win.

Bulls could potentially move the #2 pick in a trade. So now, the #2 pick can be moved without Wiggins' nasty contract attached to it.

At that point, I think several teams would be interested.

The odds of getting an impact player in this draft between 2 or 4 is negligible at best. There isn’t much value there, I guess if the Bulls just don’t want him and don’t think anyone would give anything better. I have a hard time buying that though.

Just awful for Chicago. I’d rate the chance that the 2 pick has an 18 and 9 season like Lauri did last season at 50/50. Then throwing in the 4 pick on top of that seems crazy.

The only way I see this if the Bulls think LaMelo or Anthony Edwards has the upside like a Derrick Rose. AntMan could be a superstar and LaMelo an All-Star.

With the #4, the Ws could take Deni to add to their 3-pt shooting. Or Haliburton could be their backup PG. Toppin, Okongwu, or another player could be taken to trade for a legit C later. I'm not sure the Ws take a big man in the draft since big men take longer to develop. I don't think they'll move Draymond to C at his age.
