Seems like we could have a new 2020 version of this thread.

Deebo was always a longshot to play three first couple weeks. The bigger story is that they promoted Grassu to the active roster. That suggests Garland isn't ready. Brunskill at center and Compton at guard could be a disaster.

Yes, the bigger story is having to rely on Compton/McKivitz in a divisional game and extending the damage already done by not getting Brunskill maximum snaps at RG all along.

Apparently Grasu was elevated on a temporary basis per the special PS rules this year. So maybe not quite as worrisome. We'll see.

Yeah, it's a precaution because while Garland CAN play they don't know how he'll hold up.

After today, I fully expect them to host a group of WR's for workouts this week.

Samuel out at least 2 more games, Aiyuk still iffy for next week, and even James is supposedly hurt again.

Mohamed Sanu is the best choice that immediately comes to mind. Has been pretty solid throughout his career, and is familiar with Shanny's system.

That said, I'm unsure of his health situation. Its a bit of a red flag that NE cut him, since they aren't exactly flush with WR's themselves. Although, I will say some or most of that decision could have been a result of him carrying a would be $6.5 mil for them. Or it could have been mostly health related, or it could have been performance related, or fit related, or attitude related.

I don't really know, but I do know Frisco can't expect to stay competitive if they have to heavily rely on any of those WR's they used today.

When asked after the game about the possibility of signing Sanu, Shanahan said “I love Sanu. He’s a hell of a player. I wouldn’t rule that out. At all.”

Make it happen, Kyle & John.

Just bring in Sanu and waive Richie James. Easy peasy upgrade with no roster shuffling required

Sanu balled out under Kyle that season the Falcons went to the SB... I thought we were going to sign him instead of Emmanuel Sanders last year... my question now, why isn’t he signed? Did he really look that bad in Patriots camp?

Apparently Deebo had a setback with the foot. I swear we have one of the worst training staffs in the league.

Nice!!! I haven't seen any contract details, but I'd imagine its not much over the minimum for 1 year.

With Deebo on the shelf and Aiyuk banged up and yet to play an NFL snap, Sanu probably steps right into being the #1 guy. Even if he's just a decoy out there, he's good enough that defenses have to respect him and be a focal point of coverages, which should open up things for someone else.

That's the 2nd time in the last few weeks, Frisco has worked him out and he's left without a contract. I'm thinking he wants too much $
