If we are going after stop-gap options at the point, wouldn't it make more sense to sign Dragic to a 1+1, than say trading for Paul/Conely?

Conley makes sense if we can get rid of Randle and/or get picks

Otherwise, Dragic would be a good option or even DJ Augustine as a backup plan on 1+1 deals...if we are looking for a vet pg still

I think Conley is partly the hope of addition by subtraction of Randle. CP3 is a different story though (but maybe with similar subtraction).

Orlando doesn't have a package for that pick. Not after the injury to Isaac. We might trade down to 15 in some scenario, but I likely wouldn't like it. I want the best player available at 8.

Easy pass for me. Harden is not a winner imo. Plus that's a lot to give up. It doesn't make us anywhere near good. Lastly, I am hopeful/confident RJ can be an all star himself. Patience

I'm a maybe. The Knicks would really have to have faith in the FO/scouts about LaMelo's upside. Or Edwards.

I'd consider swapping 8 for 5 and giving up the Mavs 2021 though, for either player, easily, especially Ball, who has a higher bust chance than Edwards.
So, the team getting that pick gets a draft pick at 23\24 - trying to acknowledge the Mavs will be good, but not great, especially in the West. In a "double draft", even though the great\potential impact players are said to go all the way down to 12 or 15, I'd assume strong players, stronger than usual are available in the teens/twenties.

Of course, that's also an argument for keeping that pick for the Knicks

The majority of the Raptors fans would re-sign him for 17M-20M/y.

Raptors fans are a little snob due to the recent team success. They think they are too good for Fred and they can land Giannis.

Furthermore, they have a 30M+ Siakam on the books and they have to re-sign OG next offseason. Also, It could be interesting to give Lowry a long term vet deal after 2021 (30-40/3). Ibaka could be paid a similar deal. But If they overpay Fred, they are in trouble to build a team. Especially if they miss Giannis.
