OT: NFL Football

Post#1 » by Mylie10 » Sun Sep 13, 2020 5:38 pm

Since the season has started, I thought a few of us might want to talk football.

For Niners fans, Deebo Samuel has been put on IR. He has to miss at least three games.

Gonna be a tough first game against Kyler Murray and those killer receivers.

Corners have to play great. LBs should be improved this year.

More interested to see the offense perform with Jet and Reed ... any word on Aiyuk for today?

Trent Williams has been so good in camp. He’s better than Staley was last year. That’s an improvement. If Jimmy doesn’t need to worry about his back side, it will help tremendously.

My Las Vegas Raiders offense looks fabulous baby! I havnt been this excited since Branch-Fred I forgot how to spell Belinikof - Dave Casper and the Snake

Ruggs = Branch
Jacobs = Mark Van Eghan? No lol..that’s just wrong

Carr looking terrific but he ain’t no Stabler

Areas clear likely improvement in my mind:

DL run stuffing ... DJ healthy, Thomas adding weight, plus Kinlaw ... I think they will be worse on interior pass rush without Buck, but better against the run which was a critical issue last year.

LBs all around, another year of experience and healthier now than at any point last year.

OL Williams, McG and Tomlinson finished strong, as did Brunskill. Richburg missing 1/3 of the season hurts, but if Garland can step up he may take Richburgs job. Woerner is an upgrade in the blocking game.

Receivers Edwards was good at route running but he didn't get much YAC, Taylor, Aiyuk, Reed, and a year of experience for Samuel and Dwelley.

QB coming off his first full season of his career and not having to think as much ... could make a significant step. WR injuries certainly hurt.

RB, Mostert and Wilson got better as the year went on, Jet adds a new dimension

S All 4 are back and more experienced.

As usual health is the biggest key.

Do you think Carr has turned it around mentally?

Not sure yet. The big question has been the fact that he checks down to quickly. They want him to stand in the pocket more and let plays develop. If he can’t get that done this year, then Mariotta will take over.

I don’t think the pass rush will sell out today. I think they shoot for trying to contain Kyler.

Mostert has 2 receptions for 81 yards and a TD at halftime, they can't find a way to deliver the ball to him a few more times? Shying away from or forgetting about their biggest playmaker.

Disappointing lose. Garoppolo clearly doesn’t trust any of his receivers and waiting for them to get open rather than anticipating that they’ll be open. Offense going to be a struggle again.
