Not surprised. Odds are good that there is life all over the universe. If we are the only ones then its the biggest fluke of all time.

I think the fact that we’re the only ones out there is a sign that this isn’t a fluke and an entity created us.
A distance close or farther from the sun would make this planet more or less the same as Mars or Venus.

This is one of those, "could be a sign of life" things. We get one of these every couple years.

There’s more planets in the universe than grains of sand in all the beaches and deserts in the world. And you think we’re the only one that has life on it... come on.

Re: OT Breaking: Life Found on Venus
They've found "traces" on few planets at this point. It's mostly thought to be microbial, though proving it's hard.
Mars has a carbon dioxide cycle that they can't explain, it spikes during it's winter months. That indicates something might be alive their too, under the surface.
Basic life might not actually be that rare.

I think Astronomers take it as a given that there’s life elsewhere in the universe as in single cell organisms like bacteria. It’s multi cell organisms that would really get them to lose thier **** and there’s been zero evidence that exists anywhere so far. It took the earth billions of years to advance from any life at all to single cell and then to multi cell and that jump only happened through an insane amount of rare occurrences over the planet’s history.
Look up the Rare Earth hypothesis and the Fermi Paradox and it will bring a sobering thought that we may well be alone in the universe in terms of any intelligent life. One major reason that we are here right now is because of Jupiter which acts as a shield to virtually any decent sized asteroids hurtling around thru space. If Jupiter wasn’t located exactly where it is the Earth would be a shooting gallery for asteroids and we’d be pummelled regularly by large asteroids which would eliminate any chance of life advancing to the multi cell level. A big one got through 65 million years that almost wiped out all life on this planet. Imagine one of those hitting every 100 years or so and much bigger in size.

All this tells me is that humans don't even know our own galaxy at all yet and that all the cool stuff will come way after our lifetimes

I’d say we are probably the only intelligent beings in our galaxy. Outside of that though, could be anything out there
