All I am saying is look at the current state of talent and the fact that Kyle is at the end of his days and wonder what we really are.

The Fred deal will certainly dictate the future of Masai and in two years is when people will see what I’m saying right now.

Ah, the crazed lone gunman, convinced by his own lonely twisted mind he is correct.

Holy ****, even if we were “devoid of talent” after a seven year run in the playoffs and rebuilding, that would be what a lot of teams had to do. Especially those that won a title and then lost a big time player to free agency. Which in fact we just did as well.

But we just finished second, aren’t devoid of talent, and you never really have been a good judge of that.

You sure swear a lot for a guy who is definitely not big mad anytime you make a post. Maybe the internet isn't for you, may I suggest meditation?

You sure don’t get jokes a lot and jump to claims of sexism when that wasnt the guys intent.

Oh no... I swear in asterisks.. however will I reconcile what I’ve done to your poor **** sensibilities.

I’ll try meditation for my anger issues when you try medication for yours.

Why would you go through the effort of swearing through asterisks on a message board? That seems pretty lame for a big time CEO like yourself.

I don't dig racist, sexist and homophobic jokes. If you want to excuse them that is a reflection of your own character.

Barbara is the name of BC's wife who he blamed for the twitter accounts defending him and bad mouthing Sixers players. That is the joke. But you're trolling and already know that. Just posting for other people who might not have gotten it.

It's a terrible joke and it's still sexist using a man's wife's name as an insult. Just like how a bunch of you call me a Karen because I'm not okay with your terrible sexist and racist remarks. There is no correlation between whatever BC did and my views on Masai. I've never even brought the guy up. He is a great example of the dangers of nepotism.

It's hilarious how all of you bootlickers gang up on people with your unfunny jokes. I can tell you all are big mad with clenched teeth desperately trying to get these jokes off too. We have alt-Right and now we have the alt-Masai. I bet you have a PM thread filled with your disgusting jokes too.

Not every move works out and there's always an element of luck involved in a team's success; I'm sure Masai would acknowledge this (if he hasn't already).

Carroll was a good signing AT THE TIME. Yes, he probably got overpaid a bit but that's the nature of signing free agents when you're the Toronto Raptors. He was exactly the type of player the team needed and the best free agent available who could provide those skills. The fact he got hurt and was then unable to use any of the skills he was signed for is not related to the quality of the decision to sign him.

Yes, Masai needed to use picks to move Carroll for cap flexibility. The 29th and 40th picks. Do you know what picks those were? Džanan Musa and Rodions Kurucs. Who you ask? Exactly.

The team completely changed its culture under Masai and Casey. As flawed as the roster might have been, Toronto became a perennial 50 win team and after the Wizards sweep took the Cavs 6 games in the ECF. When you are at the tier of competitiveness Toronto was it isn't easy to get a lot better. You're too good to get a high draft pick and people generally aren't trading MVP level players nor do you have the cap room to sign one in free agency (which rarely happens anyway).

The horrible contracts to Kyle and Serge let us retain them and they played huge roles in WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP!

There are only ever around 6 teams (at most) who are legit title contenders - teams with MVP calibre players. The fact that Toronto is no longer one of those teams without Kawhi isn't an indictment of Masai's performance at all. We had the 2nd best record in the league this year without an MVP level player.

Best 7-year run in franchise history which includes a championship, and people are bitching why?

And while you're at let me know if any of them would have made the bold move of trading for Kawai.

Masai got eaten alive for trading DeRozan at the time. He knew it was a risk.

We have 0 star level talent currently. Kawhi is gone.

I swear, some of you would rather have kept Demar and not had a title just so you can have "star talent".
Siakam is just as good as Derozan was. We can continue to make the playoffs and get bounced in the second round just like we did with Derozan.

I disagree that trading derozan was a risk tho. It was a no lose situation. Best case we win a title (accomplished) and keep Kawhi. Worst case we lose in the second round to Philly (which we would have done with Derozan too) and start the rebuild 2 years earlier. It was a no brainer trade if you take out the emotional part.

Return to Toronto Raptors
