It’s bad but Kawhi wasn’t the problem. Raps looked poor in their series too if we are being honest, quite flattering it went to 7. and if nugggets give a good fight to the lakers it’ll look better in hindsight.

But 3-1 is bad, yes

The point is the Clips went ALL IN to acquire this group. And it failed horribly. And they gave up the next decade of their future for this group. And Paul George wasn't nearly as good of a batman as they paid for. And they might see Kawhi and George both bolt in less than 12 months. They have no Plan B. And Plan A looks lazy and beta and temporary. Panic move by the Clippers gonna blow up in their face. Masai didn't panic. Trust Masai.

Kawhi wanted to go home badly, but also wanted to eat his cake too orchestrating that Paul George trade. Part of me feels he did underestimate the talent on the Raptors team.

People have to remember that Kawhi has been spoiled his entire career.

He came to the best organization in the league led by the greatest core in the league with the greatest coach in the league who slowly groomed into the player he became. Pops, Duncan, Manu and Parker are some of the best professionals in the league.

Then he got traded to an established contender that had just won 59 games and built a winning culture over 5 seasons.

He's never come to a team that did not have a winning culture and pedigree like he had with us and the Spurs.

I agree. Even when Kawhi quit on the spurs it was always about forcing a love to LA. That was his gameplan for years. Toronto winning a title and him still leaving said to all that he just wanted to go home.

Plan B? He made plenty of adjustments, there's multiple YouTube videos out that detail the adjustments he made. His guys just couldn't hit their open shots. The fact the Raps were that close to winning the series despite their starting front court shooting so poorly and FVV also not shooting as well as he usually does tells me he did just fine, his players just didn't execute like they had all year long. What should he have done differently? It's not like he was telling Pascal to ISO like he was Kawhi or Harden, he just wanted Pascal to play within the flow of the game.

If anything, Stevens almost blew that series, it shouldn't been that close with how bad some of the Raps were shooting on open looks. Nurse wanted Kemba shut down and in most games it worked.

The coach's job is to put his top players in positions to succeed, he did that, but they didn't get it done. Nurse can't shoot 3's from the bench.
