I'm usually not one who makes guarantees or shouts "CHAMPIONSHIPS" for no reason, but the Boston Celtics will win this series in 7.

We're wasting ourselves, by losing these games that should be won.
Each time it means that we have to play another game, to win the Series.

That's like 3 extra games so far, that we didn't need to play.

As disappointed as I am with game 1 I still say we win in 6.

Dream Scenario:
• Hayward comes back for game 2.
• Celtics reverse-sweep Miami by September 23.
• Gordo goes home for the birth of his son on the 24th.
• Nuggets push the Lakers to 7 games and win on the 30th.
• Gordo comes back to the bubble on the 28th for a 4-day quarantine.
• The NBA Finals begin on October 3.

I will say this. Regardless if we go on to win this series or not.

We beat the Raptors without Hayward while they were fully healthy and their old man Lowry and Gasol just came off 4 months of rest for an unfair advantage their legs should never have.

A team that was something around 36-7 in it's last half of the season with us being 6 of those 7 losses.

So on the balance, we already over achieved this year. Yes the Heat matchup is a 50/50 according to experts, but in the end a coin flip flips.

But this team no matter what happens in this game and until this series can walk away and fans can rightly laud them for over achieving.

And we're doing this on a DOWN year. This is a bridge year. Last year we had an entire 6th man to starters level bench. Our young bench guys are potentially improving and we might hit on some good role players in the draft this year and suddenly we could have more than just Smart off the bench (I assume Wanna leaves for the highest bidder and he's earned it)... we are not the Raptors, we are not the Clippers... we have a window that is just opening and have some years to get the right combination.

All that said, I hope Kemba remembers how to drive to the basket and score tonight and we win. CELTICS! HOORAH!

We are not doing us any favours losing games like last night or game 3 against the raptors. We have really short roation and fatigue is starting to be a factor. I thought we were settling for jumpers in the 4th because we were tired.

We need Hayward back badly but I think best case scenario is he is back for game 4 (unless of course he leaves for the birth of his child). That will be 5 weeks from the injury.

For us to win game 2, Kemba has to play better but him not being able to get to the rim against anybody is a huge concern. Also we need to involve JB more on the offensive end, we are using him like Semi...

Staff better stop playing conservative with Hayward and play him in game 2, even if he's 80%/90%. Dude's nearing the end of his max contract and has done absolutely nothing to merit it. Given the injury was out of his control, but point is the Celtics are at an optimum time right now to win it all (Clips and Bucks gone), so might as well risk it with your max player trying to finally prove his worth (or even at least part of it). If they go down 0-2, at least go down with the team at near full force. Wait until game 3 and possibly down 0-2 to bring him back and it's just gonna be more pressure on him and the team.

I'm gonna hold off on any proclamations. This Heat team is the real deal and I do not consider us as favored against them. They are so disciplined offensively and their defense is even better.

Game 2 is a must-win. I trust Brad will make the necessary adjustments, and for Tatum to shake off that Bam block on the way to another high-scoring game.

It was weird that we didn't give more opportunities for Jaylen to attack. Anyhow, I'm kinda frustrated with Hayward at this point. I know it's bad luck, but I'm frustrated. It's not his fault, but he's been basically leeching money from the team the past 3 years and hasn't done anything meanningful. I usually stay positive, but I don't see him contributing anything to this run, I hope I'm wrong as always, but if he comes back in game 4, his kid will be due in a few days, which means that he will be gone for the next game... He's a scratch for this series for me.

Hey guys, at least we’re not the Clippers amirite ?

Keys for game 2: do more, do better. All we need to do really is play for 48 min instead of only half the game

Still disgusted & angry.
Did not post in the post game thread because I was so upset, disgusted & angry.

So now I give you a combo post:
1) Gave up a 10 point lead with 8 minutes to go. ****!
2) We played an awesome Q3 (especially on D) & an awful Q4 - thereby pissing away the game.
3) Tatum was brilliant.
4) Smart was excellent (mostly)!
5) BW was outstanding & needs all of Kemba’s mother **** minutes - if Kemba’s utterly worthless & putrid play continues game after game after game.
6) JB was mostly invisible.
7) Tip of the hat to Jimmy for scoring an And 1 right in Tatum’s face - the D was great - Jimmy was better!
8) HUGE tip of the hat to Bam for stuffing Jayson’s soul at the very end of OT - an absolutely mega-brilliant play - D play of the year!

MUST **** WIN Game 2.
Time is right **** NOW.
No more excuses for losing totally winnable games.
If Kemba comes out like pure dog **** for the 10th straight game - play BW all of his minutes.
We need you, Gordon - ASAP.

In other news, Doc should be fired. How humiliating.
We all just became temporary Nuggets fans for the next 2 weeks.

If he's playing hurt because he doesn't want to let his team down, then kudos to him.

If I was Brad though, I'd sit him down and not risk further aggravation to the injury. These Celtics are resilient and play better with their backs to the wall.

Wannamaker has been solid and can take some of his minutes, and someone from the bench needs to step up to the plate to fill the rest.

I'm not liking our chances if Walker is out, but I believe in this team.

Doesn't matter to me if it is 1 point or 20, end in OT, 2OT or not, just win Game 2. It is a race to 4 and Miami just needs 3 more.

This is exactly on point! After what happened in the series with the raps, i thought they already learned their lesson. We had the game under control. all we had to do was defend, especially the 3, and make shots. That’s why i loved how the nuggets beat the Clips. They kept the pressure, and made shots. A team that is down can’t come back if the other team keeps on scoring. Our team on the other hand, played to protect the lead. Wasting too much time in the shot clock. All that iso is sickening to watch. All that hero ball, while the heat continued to grind it out and cut the lead down. Our guys forgot to pass the ball. At least in the raps series, brown, smart and tatum was driving inside, and got theis and R.will some lobs, or an open 3 at the corners. Now everybody was just standing in their own space, and watching the iso ball go to work. We definitely need Hayward back. his playmaking and perimeter shots are badly needed, simce Kemba ain’t making them. He also has the ability to get to the basket. Maybe some Kanter sightings in spurts, just to have some post up presence, escpecially if our outside shot ain’t falling. Over all stevens needs to adjust. If he says our guys pounded the ball too much, then tell them that to their faces. We all know Spo is battle tested, and Stevens needs to elevate his game for us to win, coz a lot of these games are gonna be close, and we can’t keep losing all this close ones.
