Didn’t know Leonard had an awful game. Wow. Just looked at the boxscore. 6-22 for 14 points? Yikes! Paul George wasn’t any good either. Talk about not showing up. It’s one thing if they showed up and lost a tough one but this was a complete dud by Leonard and it will be on his resume.

I respect how the Heat and Nuggets were built, through the draft and via smart FA and trades. Remember, we had an opportunity to draft five of the Nuggets players (Murray, Harris, Jokic, MPJ, Bol) but Danny is an atrocious drafter which forced us to overpay for guys like Horford, Hayward and Kemba. But after everything, we could still end up facing them in the Finals. It would be proof that there are different ways to get to there. But they have to get there first.

Only if they go absolutely cold from 3 like they have a tendency to do. Other than that, Celtics don’t match up well with either of their 2 bigs in Lebron or AD. I think Toronto matched up best. Bam would probably give AD or Lebron issues but he is literally the only viable big on the Heat so they can’t stop both Lebron/AD bullying their way to the basket either, especially Lebron

Really? Frankly we are the only team that can give them a series. Miami would be a cakewalk in my opinion.

It would not be. 4 or 5 game series but AD is a different animal and isn’t a scared Siakam, Brown isn’t gonna even slow him down one bit. Lebron’s bullyball is going to moonwalk to the paint against Smart or whomever. Celtics can only win if Lakers can’t make any 3s like they have shown before and Celtics make theirs. Celtics have no rim protection whatsoever to contain AD/Lebron. That is certain

But if they do then most non Lebron fans will just call it a fake ring anyway so it balances out.

I still think because of Covid 19 and taking a break from a regular season. Then play in this bubble in complete isolation. This is the first time in history we see something like we see in soccer, such as Champions League where a team like FC Porto, Sevilla, Napoli wins the CL

I doubt non Lebron fans will say that since the Lakers with the 2nd best record have no home court advantage whatsoever. If there’s no bubble I don’t see the Celtics, Heat, Nugget advancing to their WCF. If Lakers won the chip this is by far Lebron toughest ring ever because of No HCA.

So I generally missed most of the Clippers/Nuggets game, I was a little busy, a little hungry, and a bit distracted from our game...

Two things stick out to me from the box score and the play by play; first, the Nuggets won despite turning the ball over 20 times (versus 10 for the Clippers); second, the Clippers were +4 with Bev in the game, and +2 with Lou in the game.

First quarter, Doc subbed out Bev for Landry Shamet, instead of Lou, maybe for defensive purposes? Later in the quarter, Lou subbed in for Shamet. Anyways, Clippers gave up their lead and were -4 in the few minutes that Shamet played at the point.

Third quarter, Reggie Jackson came in for Bev, and was replaced by Lou after a few minutes. Clippers gave up their lead, and were -9 in those minutes that Reggie played.

In other words, the Clippers were -13 with both Bev and Lou on the bench. That basically accounts for the Nuggets' margin of victory in and of itself.

Not saying it won’t happen, but losing Doc Rivers would be a tough look for the league right now.

Issue is is Lebron and company are getting all sorts of rest right now, and our guys if they make it to the finals may be exhausted by that point. Who knows. I would hope not but our team is putting in a hell of a lot of minutes right now.

I'm glad there aren't a lot of Nuggets fans to begin with because they think they're better than ALL 3 teams left now.

Rondo will be MVP of the series, btw.

Clipper will always be the clippers no matter the personal.

Nuggets don't have a chance and the Lakers have done well against the small guards that can light you up types already. Jokic is a hell of a player but he does not match up well with AD.

Lakers should easily win this series in 4 or 5 games.

Yeah there is no way Rivers gets fired this year.

50 years and still no conference finals appearance. Amazing.
For comparison's sake, Celtics have been to the conference finals 6x in the last 12 seasons. Essentially every other year since KG.

I like the Nuggets personnel.

Jokic on AD. Millsap on Lebron. Defensive-minded players in Harris, Craig, and Grant. No one to guard Murray. MPJ vs. Kuzma are like that spiderman meme.

We're about to see just how good Jokic actually is. If he really is the best C in the game, he should be able to provide at least in-the-ballparkishly similar value to AD. If he doesn't, no way they can win. If he does, then we probably got a series.

That was Van Exel who said that (originally, at least, Shaq didn't like when he heard it the first time, that's for sure). DEN/LAL last played in the 2012 1st round, 4-3 LA, but last time the Nuggs made the CFs was 2009 where they got by the CP3 Hornets and Mavs in 5 games each, semi-ironically. Then they lost in 6 to LAL. Some close ones in there til DEN was on the tipping point and they got blown out at home in the clincher. The 09 Nuggets were arguably better than this version. A little better, hard to say. That was when Melo was still thought of highly as a player. Nene, Billups, JR Smith, Iverson, Kleiza, Kenyon.

Everyone is roasting the Clips after that choke job yesterday. A lot of it may be harsh, but really on point. Kawhi, PG and Doc just choked that one away. 24 pts combined by your two stars on a pivotal game 7, won’t cut it. Then you have Murray scoring 40? lol I think it’s time for Doc to get fired for this one. He just have been underachieving since he went to the Clips. Kawhi and PG just doesn’t have the leadership qualities they need, and that load management of kawhi didn’t help them get chemistry on both ends. That team was a disaster from the very start. Ballmer looked disgusted with his team, wouldn’t surprise me if they decide to move on from Doc, but I think he gets another chance next season, but would be watched closely by everybody. Lets see how they respond next season as a team.

Ever since Rondo returned, the lakers turned a corner and started playing great. I think he is the key for them to win it all. Without Rondo, they don’t really have a playmaker other than maybe lebron. I think the Nuggets have a punchers chance against them. The lakers are favored to win of course, but if the nuggets wins one of the first two games, then that series would go to 6 or 7. If they go down 3-1, there is no way lebron would lose that series. That nuggets team are loaded, with even bench players capable of scoring and defending.

Agreed regarding Rage: ON. I just like to mess around w/ the Nuggs fans w/ "Playoff Rondo" references. I've been cool with him all year. His detractors overhype the hell out of his deficiencies. He's got his problem areas, yeah, but he's had good games all throughout these season(s), that wacky past-Celtic. He's still very capable and he's got a serviceable shot to the arc considering he'll go unguarded out there for the rest of his career. LAL wanted Rondo as a rook way back, he's one of a number of guys they eventually got after being rumored to be interested in them as rooks. Def not a coincidence they picked him up. Same with Brian Shaw years earlier. Lakers were gonna take Shaw before Red snatched him 1 pick head back in 88. From UC Santa Barbara, ugh. That was Red for ya.

I think this should go 6 games max. That would be my take if I were an outside observer. Lakers handled em in the RS, but I'm not interested so much in the outcomes to RS games, but in where the Nuggs can't hang. Denver fans so far have grossly missed the forest for the trees -- AD and Brawn fer chrissakes. It seems they're ridin and dyin on that scrappy team thing. They might be one but every series is new and starts all over. If the Lakers bleep this up like the Clips did, it would be unforgivable, that's all I'm gonna say. They would not live it down. A blown near-lock of a title that would be (tho both East teams are tougher than DEN). If the Lakers don't know that yet, they should be ashamed of themselves, but I think they do. I think the series will go further and further in their pocket as it goes along. Their team D and man D in various spots squoze the Rockets like a python harder and harder every game. That was supposed to be the team that was gonna take LAL out last.
