I don't think Kemba is injured or at least not enough to badly affect him..I just think small scorers struggle in the playoffs due to size and an increased defensive effort being given by more elite defensive players than you would see in the regular season. I mean in a normal scenario, after any of these stinkers, Kemba would play the Knicks or the Wizards two days later and put up 35 and we would all be ok. The playoffs make you go right back against the same elite defense that just smoothered you and that has an effect on guys. We saw that with Kyrie against Milwaukee, Isaiah in those Cavs series..we saw it just yesterday with Lou Williams, one of the most explosive scoring guards in the league getting clamped and averaging 10ppg against the Nuggets. He is working super hard for his buckets and getting worked on defensively due to his size. His offensive game has no rhythm at all. He is even missing some free throws yhat he normally is 90% and over.

My real issue is how we over use him and let JB stand in a corner all game. JB has a height, speed or strength mismatch on Herro, Crowder, Robinson, Dragic, Nunn and we called plays for him maybe 4x in that game. You got to make better use of him, you got to put him in position to hit those fall away FT line jumpers that he is so good at..

Brad has to be way better. I also think he should give Romeo some burn in this series. He's got the speed and size to match up better against those guards than Semi does.

I am starting to feel really nervous about this series. Regarding the wide open 3s and cuts to the basket the Heat were getting, I am not sure how much of it is Celtics defenders losing focus and lazily messing up switches and how much is just Miami flat out being a well-oiled machine which is impossible to guard for 48mins (let alone more).

Their defense is for real though, they dont have great 1v1 defenders except for Adebayo and Butler, but their team defense is surreal, they are scrambling like crazy and are extremely active in the passing lanes. Seems like Spoelstra has done a lot of homework and we are very predictable.

I hope I'm wrong, but if Kemba doesn't return to his old self (improbable if he is indeed hurt), Miami is going to the finals.

We just drive head first into traffic which seemed to work during the regular season against mediocre teams but will not work in this series. It's really **** hard to watch this brand of basketball

If the game is close down the stretch we have to stop with the ISO’s on every possession. Trust you’re teammates and move the ball.

Miami did a good job of hunting Kemba on defense. And if Kemba continues to play like trash on offense like he did in the 1st 3 quarters, then that is problematic.

With that being said, I'm still pretty confident we take this in 6 or 7.

I wish we could swap Kemba with Jrue Holiday.

I love watching gritty get up in you defense, and the thought of Jru/Smart/Brown/Tatum is just filthy

Think about it for a second. Miami played really well on both ends for the most part. Shot 44.4% from 3 which is above their average. Kemba went 1/9 from 3. We got nothing from the bench outside of Wanamaker. We were awful for half a game defensively. And still only lost by 3 in OT.

I actually feel more confident now compared to prior to game 1. Unless fatigue is coming into play, I think we can win this series. If Gordo can contribute in a game or two, I'd feel even more confident.

Jaylen wasn't really at his best either. Wonder if that groin is affecting him?

Quarters 1 and 3 were really good. 2 and 4 were terrible. Remains to be seen which one is closer to the norm.

Really would like to see Hayward get back into this, as another much needed option.

The good thing is that Kemba was getting good shots off. He needs to start hitting those pull up 3’s.

Feel really good about this one. Think Kemba found his rhythm late.

Absolute must win. We lose this Miami can start getting ready for the Finals. Need more Rob. Less Semi. Smart on Dragon all game. Try to hide Kemba somehow..IDK. I'm not confident..

The team is way too fatigued after the Toronto series and having a depleted bench and only one day of rest in-between games isn't helping either...

Gordon needs to get back onto the court ASAP if the Celtics want to make the Finals.

The problem with Hayward is not only his ankle. It’s the fact that he’s still pregnant and can’t wait to deliver his baby boy.

On a more serious note though, I know a lot of fans support his decision to go see his son get born. I just can’t stand behind that. I seriously gave up on that guy 2 months ago when he said he’s leaving the bubble at some point in September and that it was a “pretty easy decision for me”.

Well ok then Mr Hayward. Then the injury happened.

Can’t seriously expect a quick fix with Hayward. Dude will be rusty and will mess up our chemistry.

We got to ride or die with the guys we have on the team currently.

If he comes back and gets a role off the bench in about 20 mpg and can be effective cool. If not we still got a bloody good chance to go to the Finals without him.

What also hurt wasn't that Miami seemed to live at the FT line, but that they missed a bunch.

These are his trademark. So not hitting them is tough.
Good assessment:

Tatum needs to dunk on Bam to get his mojo back ... preferably three times ... all of them in your face poster quality.

I might sound like a prick and a selfish one at that, but it is kind of a bummer that Hayward is going to miss a few days with his newborn. I know that it's his first boy and ****, but we literally have a once in a lifetime chance to win a title and the kid will be there, I do kinda understand that he doesn't wanna miss the birth.

edit: To add to my post, he's been given a ton of money and he hasn't delivered anything. I know it hasn't been his fault, but with hist latest injury and his kid's birth coming up, to me he's basically a scratch for this series, too and even if we make I don't know if he will be of any use in the Finals...
