We need Hayward! Miami has too many weapons, and their bench is destroying ours. We need him back now.

Guys relax, yes it sucks we lost and we do absolutely need to play better. We lost by 3 in ot. We didn’t get destroyed.

I get there’s a lot of emotions here but let’s not lose rational thought and objectivity please. At least not the day after, game threads are another matter.

Weird thing is I don't feel as bad as some of the losses vs Toronto. We really just have to tighten things up.

That's how miami has been winning games hitting 3 pointers isnt unusual for them. Allowing 44 points in the paint or whatever it was was the real issue.

Didn't actually notice the Heat scored a bunch inside. That means the defense as a whole was terrible the entire game. They let the Heat score both inside and outside and that is unacceptable. Credit the Heat for rotating the ball well though, they actually do remind me of GSW pre-Durant on offense.

I agree that we need Gordon but really doubt we are getting prime Hayward for at least 2 or 3 games after he comes back. Who knows where the series will be at that point or whether he even gets that far before leaving again. Kemba and JB are the ones that need to step up and anything GH can give us is just the cherry on top.

Hayward isn't coming to save this team. Even if he does come back my guess is he won't be game speed ready and I can see him being tentative after yet another injury. If the Celtics plan on getting by Miami they have to do it with the personal they currently have.

It is not necessarily that they lost it is how they lost.

Game in and game out the Celtics keep having the same consistency issues where they cannot score in stretches, have major defensive lapse where they cannot get a key stop (Herro and Butler last night, Powell game 3) or they just flat out leave a player so wide open, like Crowder, I can almost see the surprise on his face. Even last night the team had the ball on offense with a chance to put the game away and they could not which happened a few times in the raps series.

It is a fatal flaw with this team and at some point it will cost them a series.

Yeah agreed. In the first quarter it looked like Varsity vs JV. Celtics dripping with confidence and getting whatever they wanted, and the Heat couldn't get good looks at all. Then we just stopped playing hard. Then got it back in the third and then rinse and repeat in the 4th and OT.

Play hard and play smart for the whole damn game and this series is ours.

That's what gives me so much doubt about our ability to win this series. Even in 2020, playoff series are won in the paint. Theis is a solid player, but he doesn't scare anyone at the rim really. Four freaking rebounds in 35 mins. Don't get me started on Grant Williams.

I think 1st quarter cannot be taken too seriously into account. Heat had a lot of days off and were taken aback by the Celtics intensity to start off the game, Celtics had some momentum from the recent Toronto series. When Miami settled, we didnt have many answers for their offense, and towards the end of the game their defense got really tight. At the end of the 3rd quarter, when we built another lead, Miami was riding Olynyk and Nunn, which made their defense putrid. Their unit of Dragic, Herro, Butler, Crowder, Adebayo actually played some frantic, suffocating defense at the end of the game, I was un-pleasantly surprised...

Overall, it doesn't seem to me it's gonna be an easy series no matter what, Miami is a well oiled machine which appears to be as clutch as it gets.

We need another body. We're not doing so well with what we have.
Whether it's the addition of Hayward, or the current Bench picking up more mins (Romeo, Grant, etc), either way.

There's too much mental fatigue, at the end of games.
I'll say it again. We need another body.

As long as it's not a series loss, we're still in this.

Or more plays for the bodies on the floor. RWIII is a lob threat but only got one bucket in last night's game, and I believe it was a putback. We have so many issues with running our offense, and too many shots for guys like Semi and Grant, why don't we utilize more PnR or lob plays for Rob when he's on the floor? He's shooting 20/26 in the playoffs. Semi is 7/26.

Was always going to be tougher the further we went with the current bench. Ainge really needs to sort it out during the post season.

I feel like the Celtics will be desperate as hell on thursday, their playoff lives are at stake. Being down 0-2 and have this terrible feeling after a loss linger for another 48 hrs will be tough. Don't know why some here were that optimistic and predicted series in 5 or 6. This is probably going to game 7.

Miami has been balling out in the playoffs.

It’s one thing I really appreciated about this bubble playoff pace; not too much time to stew in the losses.

Need to cleanse that palate with a W tmw
