I don’t get the math there. If Giannis and lebron 100% got all the first team forward votes, how could Siakam get a first place vote? Likewise, if Jokic and Davis accounted for 100% of first votes, how did Gobert get one?

They should just say 'f it' to positions and pick the 5 best guys. But they didnt do that, and its messed that AD, a dude who plays a lot with a C, gets to be called a C for expediency. That was Jokic's spot, or replace him with Kawhi and take the 5 best from the season (though maybe remove Doncic instead)

KL: 19, 5, and 7.5 on 42% shooting

So Russ average 8 more points, 3 more rebounds, almost the same assists AND was more efficient than lowry

Is defense important in basketball?

Of course. But ADs defense isn't enough to put him over Jokic. The impact and gravity Jokic brings on offense is just too much. AD has a career history of being a fairly ineffective lead guy. He's perfect on the Lakers as a 2nd option.

the only thing Lowry has over him is TS%, eFG%. Westbrook PER 21, Lowry 17. Both are average defenders. So Westbrook dominates in points, rebs, assists and PER. And Lowry in the shooting stats. so basically Lowry is a better shooter, Westbrook is better at everything else. both are average defenders.

He benefitted from the vote occurring pre-bubble. Using the complete regular season, he had no argument over Tatum.

This is not about who is better, Davis or Jokic, but who is center.

According to basketball-reference, Jokic played 100% of playing time this season on the center spot, while Davis most of his time (60%) played on PF spot behind classic centers McGee/Howard!

So, if we count Davis as the forward (as we should), the real all-NBA first team should be Doncic-Harden-LBJ-Giannis-Jokic, the 2nd team is Paul-Lillard-Kawhi-Davis-Gobert!
